Certification or training in tire repair and maintenance.
Experience
At least 4 years of experience as a Tyreman, preferably in a mining, construction, or industrial environment.
Requirements
Proficiency in repairing and maintaining tires for heavy equipment such as dump trucks, loaders, cranes, and graders.
Knowledge of tire specifications, pressure requirements, and repair techniques.
Familiarity with tools and equipment used for tire maintenance, including jacks, air compressors, and torque wrenches.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential safety hazards related to tire conditions.
Physical fitness and ability to work in demanding outdoor and remote conditions.
Basic understanding of workplace safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
Responsibilities
Inspect, repair, and replace tires on heavy machinery, light vehicles, and equipment used on-site.
Conduct routine maintenance and checks to ensure tires are in safe operating condition, including checking air pressure, tread depth, and wear patterns.
Mount, dismount, and balance tires using specialized tools and equipment.
Perform puncture repairs, vulcanizing, and other tire-related services as required.
Keep detailed records of tire inspections, replacements, and repairs for all vehicles and equipment.
Identify and report any abnormal wear or damage to tires that may indicate underlying mechanical issues.
Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of tires and related materials in compliance with environmental regulations.
Collaborate with mechanics and operators to schedule tire maintenance and replacements to minimize equipment downtime.
Follow RDMC safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Assist with inventory management of tires, tools, and related supplies.
