Role & Context:
We are looking for a Tech Lead - Marine Terminals (MT) to work with our Marine Structure customers. The goal for this position is to be the technical expert and representative for a specific AIT stream and act as a bridge between various internal stakeholders. By having direct access to the client correspondence - to be shared by WFM - and supporting the Regional Customer Success Team through WFM engagement, this role will increase visibility and decrease the information gap between various project teams. This position will be responsible for driving internal change and adaptation to deliver our services to a client's expectations successfully. Additionally, the resource will assist Project Leads, DPMs, RPMs, TPMs, WFMs, Product, DART, Engineering, Sales, and CSM Teams with queries pertaining to Marine Terminal Pipeline - from Data Capture to Delivery and Client Feedback Resolution. Based on requirements the Tech Lead role can be moved to other business streams such as DWO, Subsea, and others as required. The Tech Lead will primarily work on AIT projects and will be engaged by WFM on a need-to-know basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management & Project Lead:
- Drive project management processes within AIT, coordinating efforts across various teams to optimize resource allocation, maintain quality, and deliver projects efficiently. seamless project execution by collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, and operations, to deliver client-centric solutions.
- Tech Lead can also be assigned to lead a project as a Project Lead similar to a Team Lead to accommodate and resolve capacity issues.
Quality Assurance & Control:
- Define, implement, and continuously refine quality assurance processes that integrate client feedback and align with Abyss standards.
- Conduct thorough quality control reviews of deliverables to guarantee accuracy, consistency, and adherence to both internal standards and client requirements before submission.
Technical Expertise & Data Analysis:
- Leverage your deep understanding of marine terminal operations and infrastructure to guide project execution, using industry software and tools to optimize both component-level and facility-level solutions.
- Perform comprehensive data analysis to interpret project deliverables, providing clients with actionable insights and helping them understand the implications of the data on their strategic goals.
- Utilize technical expertise to drive continuous improvements in marine terminal operations, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Develop, review, and deliver presentations, reports, and progress updates to keep all stakeholders informed on project status, schedules, and milestones.
- Ensure transparency and alignment among all involved parties by effectively communicating project progress, potential risks, and strategic insights.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) & Continuous Improvement:
- Develop, review, and optimize SOPs tailored to client feedback, streamlining internal processes to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for optimization within marine terminal operations to better meet client needs and industry standards.
Miscellaneous
- Act as a focal point in Abyss for Marine Terminal Q/As
- Any other tasks pertaining to Marine Terminal not mentioned above.
- Be able to manage and coordinate with stakeholders in multiple time zones.
Selection Criteria:
Technical Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 1 to 1.5 years of Abyss’ Experience. Prior experience in the infrastructure sector is a plus.
- Experience as a Task Team Leader in AIT on MT projects (at least 1 project) is required.
- Robust understanding of Facility and Component Level deliverables.
- Able to develop WBS and provide input on CTR / Production Metrics in a plus.
- Must have worked on all modules of MT: Asset List, Labelling, Tagging, Defect, ES Sheet, Nomination Reports, Subsea, POIs, and Client Feedback.
- Technical proficiency in reviewing, drafting and identifying gaps and missing data in client-supplied inspection reports, structural drawings, and standards.
- Be able to assist with reports, presentations, and review of project briefs.
- Understanding of different codes and standards: EDDs, GIPs, ASCE (Marine Facilities), ASTM and ACI (Design Philosophes).
- Understanding of different software and tools: AutoCAD, Naviswork Manage, Cloud Compare, Metashape, Trendspek, ImageJ, Sonar (Genesis, Oculus).
- Understanding of RBi System (Logic, Equations, Assessment Methods, CoF, PoF, ISO Risks, RCs, Transition Period, Tasks) and different Equipment Strategy (ES) Sheets and their use is a plus.
