        1. Business
      1. Schedule & control PMD operations effectively to achieve daily and monthly production target. Ensure minimum downtime and smooth runability of machines to achieve Master Production Schedule target.
      2. Ensure manufacturing of high quality product by meeting/exceeding quality targets in terms of Q2S,Q2C & COPS by following agreed quality processes. Improve processes to reduce/eliminate market complaints and to ensure product integrity.
      3. Coordinate and support all maintenance activities to ensure smooth running of machines and reduction in downtimes. Ensure presence of machine crew on the machine to facilitate maintenance related activities. Provide full support to maintenance team to ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.

      1. Seek continuous learning and development opportunities for self and team members.
      2. Engage and motivate shift team to perform at their best to achieve departmental objectives. Organize team building activities to celebrate, recognise and reward the high performers.
      3. Identify training needs of machine crew to bridge skill gap and develop multiskilling to ensure smooth operations on shop floor.
      4. Play active role in worker evaluation system and discussing performance expectations and areas for improvement. Provide regular feedback to shift employees on their behavior, attendance and machine performance to ensure continuous improvement in employee’s performance.
      5. To negotiate & resolve IR issues on the floor to maintain a good state of discipline.
    1. Management
      1. Monitor and ensure the compliance of Company EH&S policies on shop floor to provide safe and healthy work environment. Facilitate training of all shop floor employees on EH&S standards by coordinating with EH&S manager. Ensure that all guards and interlocks are in working condition.
      2. Ensuring all EH&S Inspections of Guarding, PPE’s, Ladder and Catwalks is completed as per the schedule.
      3. Ensure tracking of EH&S compliance in DDS and WDS.
      4. Monitor and ensure the compliance of Company PI&T policies on shop floor to ensure product integrity and traceability at all levels in PMD. Continuous improvement cycle in terms of department housekeeping to be ensured to comply with PM&H standards in PMD
      5. Ensure reduction in tobacco wastages by close monitoring of machinery condition and focusing on skill enhancement of machine crew to keep wastages within targets.
      6. Maintain high standard of machinery and floor housekeeping and keep work force in high level of morale/motivation by providing clean and healthy work environment.

      1. Maintain good relationship with CBA representatives to ensure smooth operations on the floor.
      2. Seek regular feedback from Quality assurance to ensure high quality product manufacturing.
    1. Innovation
      1. Implement process innovation/improvement to drive productivity with cost effectiveness.
      2. Schedule all activities in the PMD related to product initiatives to ensure quick response to their requirement.
      3. Encourage shop floor employees to come up with new and different ideas of doing work to ensure continuous improvement process.
      4. Continuously look for new and better ways for improving different processes already in place on the production floor.
  1. Additional Information
    1. Context/Environment

The jobholder reports to the PMD Cell Manager and is responsible for:


      1. PMD operations aiming to achieve the specified production and quality targets. Primary Manufacturing operates in three shifts six days a week. Shifts are manned by both skilled and semi-skilled workforce with low literacy level represented by CBA.
      2. Manage sample manufacture effectively without hindering routine processing as and when required
      3. Active engagement of key CBA representatives on strategic initiatives.
      4. Continuously optimize the process to reduce operation time and improving quality i.e. moisture, fill value, PDS and COPS.
      5. Most of the equipment in PMD is either local or cascaded requiring extra maintenance.
    1. Knowledge, Skills & Experience
      1. University degree/ Diploma with 1-2 years experience of Operations Management to handle maintenance as well as operational activities.
      2. Should be self-motivated and possess initiative, drive and leadership abilities to lead a team with Decision Making as well as Resource Management skills.
      3. Must possess effective interpersonal and influencing skills. Should exhibit leadership and conflict management skills. Working experience of SAP is desirable
      4. Must exhibit good and effective communication skills.
      5. Must be able to enforce discipline and set good work practices within the team.   
    1. Key Success Factors
      1. Maintaining of process parameters in all section. Monitoring of fill values, quality ratio,

moistures, addbacks and inspection of bales (according to recipe) on daily basis.


      1. Calibration of Monitoring & Measuring devices as per identified frequency.
      2. To control the revenue expenditure and overtime within the approved limits.
      3. To improve the OEE and Tobacco Waste by reducing the breakdowns with improvements/streamlining of the plant maintenance systems.
      4. To lead and inspire workforce effectively to keep them in a high state of morale/motivation.
