Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Teaching Associate (Part Time), Department of Family Medicine.

Responsibilities:


You will be responsible to:


  • contribute to the teaching of course participants according to responsibilities assigned by the course director, course coordinator and module coordinators
  • co-facilitate various components of the modules
  • participate in the revision of the curriculum and its assessment methods
  • help in presentation and review of discussion forum tasks, cases for synchronous session and other interactive activities of the module
  • participate actively in clinical skills teaching sessions
  • participate in preparing, reviewing and conducting of clinical skills assessment exam
  • develop/maintain a very good understanding of the research protocol and related study instruments
  • liaise and coordinate for research study requirements with relevant departments of the institution, field team and communities
  • maintain study documentation as per protocol and GCP requirements (enrolment, data quality and monitoring)
  • maintain regulatory and administrative study documents in accordance with applicable regulations, institutional requirements, and ICH GCP guidelines
  • facilitate all start-up and close-out requirements of the study
  • participate in the clinical assessment process
  • assist in grant preparation, costing and study budgeting
  • contribute in the planning, development and implementation of staff/faculty training and capacity building under the direction of the supervisors
  • facilitate in monitoring and audits of the department
  • participate in quality improvement initiatives and other special assignments as delegated from time to time by the supervisors.

Requirements:


You should have:


  • MBBS or equivalent foreign degree
  • at least 2 years of clinical experience; however, clinical experience in Family Medicine/General Practice will be preferred
  • broad based clinical knowledge with sound clinical judgement
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Urdu
  • flexibility and creativity in planning new activities
  • willingness and aptitude to learn new online/teacing and learning tools. Familiarity with tools such as Kahoot, would be highly desirable
  • ability to build good working relationships with course participants and fellow colleagues
  • excellent computer skills and can facilitate online learning using different tools to enhance participation and engagement by the participants
  • ability to retrieve accurate data from medical records. Some data analysis backround in SPSS or Stata would be highly desirable
  • ability to handle diverse set of tasks for multiple research studies simultaneously.
