Key Responsibilities:VAT Compliance and Reporting:Prepare and file accurate VAT returns for Middle Eastern countries within specified deadlines.Ensure timely payment of VAT liabilities and manage VAT refunds.Reconcile VAT accounts and resolve discrepancies with tax authorities.Tax Advisory and Planning:Provide guidance on VAT implications for cross-border transactions.Advise on structuring business transactions to ensure tax efficiency.Stay updated on changes in regional tax regulations and assess their impact on the organization.Tax Audits and Risk Management:Support and manage tax audits and queries raised by tax authorities.Identify potential tax risks and implement corrective measures to mitigate them.Internal Collaboration:Work closely with finance and accounting teams to ensure compliance with tax laws.Provide training and updates to teams on VAT and tax-related changes.Other Tax Responsibilities:Handle compliance for other applicable taxes (e.g., corporate tax, withholding tax, Zakat).Support the implementation of new tax policies or systems in the region.RequirementsKey Qualifications:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s or CPA/ACCA is a plus).Experience:3–5 years of experience in VAT and tax compliance, preferably in the Middle East.Knowledge:Strong understanding of VAT laws and tax regulations in GCC countries.Familiarity with tax treaties and cross-border tax implications.Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.Skills:Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Effective communication and collaboration skills.
