Job Description

General Summary:


This position involves the development of embedded test applications, automation frameworks, test tools, and automated test cases.  This includes hands on testing of Qualcomm’s leading edge, low power, embedded sensor solution that covers a wide variety of consumer and industrial IoT products, such as multimedia, navigation, compute, IoT, wearables, virtual reality, and augmented reality.  The role is an individual contributor as part of an international sensor software development team.


  • Skills/experience:

  A minimum of 4-6 years of work experience with testing embedded systems and developing automated test cases / automation frameworks for them.


-      Proficiency in C and/or C++.


-      Prior experience with developing and/or debugging embedded code.


-      Previous experience with developing applications using Visual Studio C# IDE.


-      Prior experience with Android application programming. 


-      Previous programming experience with Java, Python, etc.


-      Previous experience with standard Qualcomm test automation framework and tools (Axiom, QXDM, QDSS, Crashscope, Trace32). 


-      Previous exposure to Audio, Location, Camera, Bluetooth, WiFi and Sensor (inertial, pressure, magnetic, ambient light, proximity, capacitive, physiological) technologies and associated test equipment is beneficial.


  • Responsibilities:

-      Developing embedded test applications using C/C++ to test sensors and sensor related features.


-      Developing test automation modules for the overall sensor automation framework using C# and Python.


-      Developing automated test cases for mobile, compute and IoT targets.


-      Triaging issues observed during testing and isolating the root cause within test components and/or embedded target software. Driving the resolution of the observed test issues across the Qualcomm test tool development teams.


-      Supporting test and software development team in analysis and debugging of observed issues in embedded targets.


-      Test planning, test case development and execution. This includes hands-on testing with various Qualcomm products.


-      Interact in a global team environment with various test architecture, power, software, system, test, and test framework teams.


-      Desire to understand the embedded software and hardware architectures of productions, from high-level operating system to driver level.


-      Passion for developing scalable, robust, and lean automated testing of embedded targets across varying software architectures.


Minimum Qualifications:


• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Test Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Test Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

• 1+ year of work or academic experience with Software Test or System Test, developing and automating test plans and/or tools (e.g., Source Code Control Systems, Continuous Integration Tools, and Bug Tracking Tools).
  • Education requirements:

Required: Bachelor's, Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering


Preferred: Master's, Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering
