Position Title: Specialist, Transformation Office

Responsibilities:The Specialist position, reporting to the Senior Manager of Transformation, entails an essential role in developing innovative solutions to enhance operational processes and drive efficiency. The incumbent will actively contribute to transformative initiatives via Process Improvement Projects at AKU. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Transformation Office in IT Department - AKUH, you will be responsible for:


  • providing and delivering cutting-edge solutions using process improvement tools, as internal consultants for the organization.
  • developing and executing comprehensive project and change management plans to ensure seamless project delivery and overcome potential obstacles.
  • offering expert support and guidance to the project team as needed, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • monitoring process performance and essential metrics to identify areas for enhancement and drive continuous improvement.
  • maintaining and updating all process-related documentation, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records for easy reference.
  • leveraging data analysis techniques to identify trends and derive actionable insights to optimize processes and enhance user experience.
  • contributing to the development of strategies, project plans, project reports, presentations, and communications.
  • achieving project objectives by engaging cross-functional teams, subject matter experts, and key stakeholders.
  • collaborating with stakeholders, and adeptly manage their expectations and communicate progress to them throughout the project lifecycle.
  • identifying, developing, and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) that align with project goals, enabling progress measurement and evaluation.
  • conducting best practice research to identify trends and benchmarks that can inform process improvements.

Requirements:The incumbent must have:


  • a minimum of a bachelor's degree in, Healthcare Administration, Process/Operations Management, Computer Science degree would be essential.
  • a strong proficiency in process improvement & change methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen., Porsci, ADKAR etc.
  • excellent knowledge of process mapping and analysis techniques.
  • proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as MS Excel, Powerpoint, PowerBI, Visio, Project, Canva.
  • track record of at least 3-4 years in successfully implementing transformation and process improvement projects within the context of university hospitals, spanning from the conceptual design stage to post-implementation support.
  • prior experience of working with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems will be preferred.
  • proven expertise in Change Management initiatives, delivering measurable results and internal consulting.
  • thorough knowledge of Business Process Reengineering, Lean, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Six Sigma, Gemba, and other industry-standard process improvement tools and methodologies.
