What is Specialist RAN Planning?
Preparing E2E proposals of Radio Access Network (RAN) and successfully implementing them to provide voice and data coverage in remote areas as per targets defined by USF. It would require experience in RF Planning, RF Optimization, Multi-Technology (2G\3G\4G and upcoming), Multi-Vendor, grip on relevant Tools and interpersonal skills to be able to work in challenging cross functional teams with multiple vendors and customers.
The role reports directly to the Manager RAN Planning USF Projects and has 6 people reporting directly into it with an extended team of 7 team members.
What does Specialist RAN Planning do?
- Design network and link budgets using Asset, Global Mapper, GE and MapInfo.
- Align equipment required to implement proposed network designs with vendors.
- Prepare financial numbers required to purchase equipment and services.
- Create documentation for USF bidding and answer USF queries about design.
- Co-ordinates with vendor and USF to validate Mauza information.
- MIF discussions, changes, conversions, summaries and alignment with USF.
- Network redesign to accommodate the changes triggered after MIF.
- Change Request submission to USF for changes required in proposed network solutions.
- Complete new documentation after alignment with USF for contract amendment.
- BOQ verification, PO-PR Tracking, Project implementation plans and equipment tracking.
- Equipment reconciliation and tracking with vendors, operations and rollout.
- Site selection, difficult sites relocation, on spot JV and SAR evaluation.
- Site optimization, design verification, SSV, redesigns and expansions.
- Stats extraction, KPI’s monitoring, benchmarks, reporting and Dashboards.
- Site access and security support for Mauza DT and Optimization.
- DT verifications, DT trackers, DT offering and resolution of indicated issues.
- Mile Stone pre requisite data preparation and MS Offering.
- Co-ordination for Site and Mauza Audits by USF Technical Auditor.
- Quick resolution of issues raised by USF & TA to ensure timely closure of MS.
- KPI’s & SSV validation, PAC & FAC validation as per issued PO and accepted KPI\SSV.
- Engage Vendors for multiple new solutions and technologies.
- Prepare network congested cells analysis & guideline to educate the other stakeholders.
- Hand on experience on Radio Network Planning tools & engage team for standardization.
- Take initiatives for process improvement and identify loop holes for increased efficiency.
- Coordinate and follow-up with multiple stakeholders for issue resolution.

Requirements
- 1-2 year experience in RAN Planning.
- BS\BE in Electrical\Electronics\Telecom\Computer.
- LTE, 5G, UMTS, 2G RAN planning & Optimization experience.
- Expert level command on planning tools like Asset.
- Able to travel frequently as per requirement.
- Expertise in performance monitoring tools and drive test tools.
- Command over USF procedures like Network Planning, Documentation, CR, MIF, MS offering.
- Multi-Vendor experience (Hardware knowledge, Site solution locking, performance monitoring).
- Vendor, internal & external stakeholder management.
- Innovative and can come up with out of the box solutions.
- Knowledge of future technologies and ability to carry out future technology trials.
- Communication and presentations skills to make solutions/ideas understandable for respective audience segments.
- Drive for results to own initiatives and continuously evolve in line with analysis and feedback.
- Ability to work effectively in a pressure and multitasking environment.
- Microsoft Office.
