Introduction: 

The Aga Khan University was found in 1983 as Pakistan’s first private university, Aga Khan University is a not-for-profit institution and an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network. Starting in 2000, the University expanded to Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, United Kingdom and Afghanistan. AKU began life as a health-sciences university. 


The Aga Khan University Examination Board (AKU-EB) is the first private-sector university-led trans-provincial Board (awarding body) in Pakistan established through the Ordinance of the Government of Pakistan. The Board offers high-quality examinations for Secondary School (grades 9th and 10th - SSC) and Higher Secondary School (grades 11th and 12th - HSSC/ FSC) qualifications for public and private schools across Pakistan. The Board also offers a Middle School Program (MSP) for grades 6th–8th students and its registered schools engage a globally accepted approach, Project-Based Learning (PBL) to implement the MSP. The PBL is considered as a foundation of the AKU-EB MSP, helping schools foster sense of purpose and leadership in young learners.


At the heart of AKU-EB’s mission is to shift teaching and learning away from rote learning and move towards higher order thinking, preparing students for higher education and lifelong learning. Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Specialist (Operations) in the Examination Board. 


Job Role / Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Operations you will be responsible for the preparation of examination timetable in coordination with various stakeholder. Additionally, you will be responsible to:


  • prepare effective student friendly examination timetable in coordination with relevant sections
  • conduct survey of exam centres to secure exam venues and negotiate the terms and conditions in conformity, including assessment of lab capacities for practical exams
  • manage recruitment and training of exam supervisors and invigilators and maintain complete records ensuring timely payments and plan for CCTV coverage
  • facilitate AKU internal audit, security, and purchase departments for exam related activities
  • ensure the security of exam materials before, during, and after exams
  • monitor exam venues to prevent and address any incidents of malpractice or misconduct
  • review exam cases for “special consideration” and plan for support of disabled candidates i.e., to recruit scribes, arrange for enlarge papers in line with EB’s rules
  • ensure distribution of exam stationery to all exam supervisors; and distribution of the science practical instructions to affiliated schools
  • ensure adherence to institutional policies and regulatory requirements in all exam processes
  • prepare and submit reports on exam conduct, highlighting any issues or incidents
  • prepare reports on malpractice cases present them to the malpractice and appellate committees for review
  • draft conduct of exam policies in view of best international policies keeping in line with IBCC regulations
  • stay updated on best practices in exam conduct and recommend improvements as needed.
Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:

You should have:


  • a MBA degree from a recognized University
  • at least 2 - 4 years’ experience of exam administration at SSC and HSSC levels
  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • excellent understanding of examination cycle
  • fluency in speaking and writing Urdu and English.
