Specialist, Human Development Programme

IntroductionThe Human Development Programme (HDP) aims to support human development through a multidisciplinary and research-based approach. Its initial focus is early childhood, a period of life that lays the foundation for all future learning, development and wellbeing.  Applying an integrated approach to education, health, nutrition and stimulation in early years. HDP aims to provide the support needed to promote holistic child development by enhancing physical, cognitive, social and emotional abilities of children to help them become healthy competent individuals participating productively and effectively in their societies.   


HDP is determined to promote better development of future generations and with its educational and community-based programmes. The Programme aims to build the capacity of professionals, parents and communities who have the responsibility of providing a strong foundation and learning opportunities for ensuring a good start in life to every child.

This is a grant-funded contractual position.


ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible to:


  • conduct training sessions for target audience and support project leads, using diverse methodologies like practical demonstrations, role-plays, group discussions, and multimedia tools to enhance learning
  • design tailor made training content to meet the requirements of the field context and ensure training activities are conducted within the planned timeline. (timely reporting of participants, start and end times of training, etc.)
  • design and develop culturally relevant training materials, including presentations, handouts, and assessments, and evaluate participants' progress through feedback and pre/post-tests (as required)
  • frequently travel to project areas and conduct sessions/interviews/FGDs with caregivers/stakeholders
  • conduct literature review, adapt and contextualize field material including tools for KIIs/FGDs/household visits
  • work in challenging contextual environments with minimal supervision if in case project leads are not available in the field
  • translate, transcribe, and develop drafts of field data
  • ensure smooth coordination between the Project leads, and field staff during the field
  • translate (English to Urdu/& vice versa), transcribe, and contextualize the content /tips for the age group of 0-5 years in coordination with project leads
  • design creative booklet (s), or other related material using software like Canva, etc.
  • create and provide detailed outlines, breaking content into descriptors/ descriptions of content based on contextual relevancy to illustrator/designer/videographer, etc
  • coordinate efficiently with illustrators, videographers, and field staff in content development (e.g., videos, posters, documentation) and provide critical review/feedback on initial drafts
  • coordinate and participate in meetings, assist in creating PPTs, present monitoring reports (weekly/biweekly/monthly), and record meeting minutes
  • support partner agencies in planning and organizing dissemination seminars related to project
  • ensure the timely delivery of finalized materials to the field and partner agencies (via online or courier services) in coordination with admin staff and follow up with partner agencies to confirm receipt and distribution
  • provide feedback on materials developed by partner agencies (AKRSP and AKF,P), assist and support the dissemination of field activity findings.

RequirementsYou should have:


  • a masters in Education from an HEC recognized or reputable foreign university/institution
  • at least five years of experience of working in nutrition and research projects. Experience of working with children with NDs will be given preference
  • experience with writing project reports and other project related documentation
  • experience of scientific manuscript writing and having published 1-2 papers in peer-reviewed journals (preferable)well versed with training, field work and material development using different modalities.
  • good academic writing skills and experience in report writing
  • efficiency in data analysis using qualitative and quantitative data analysis tools
  • ability to effectively work in a team setting
  • efficiency in computer skills (MS Office, internet, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • ability to work effectively in scholarly teams
  • strong communication skills in English (both oral and written)
  • excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
  • ability to design and create materials relevant to the project's activities and requirements
  • ability to publish and write grants
  • assist admin staff and project team in coordinating field arrangements, printing/publishing, maintaining payment and
  • expense records, and processing invoices with accuracy
  • ability to handle communication with vendors (designers/illustrators etc) and other stakeholders, ensuringprofessional interaction
  • ability to handle any other task related to the project assigned by project leads.
