Specialist, Division of Women and Child Health

The Division of Women & Child Health (DWCH) integrates the existing Depts of ObGyn and Paediatrics and Child Health, Fetal medicine unit and the four secondary care hospitals. The DWCH targets clinical services, educational programs and research by optimizing shared resources to teach innovative courses in areas of high relevance to maternal and child survival in developing countries and establishing a strong referral system across the primary, secondary and tertiary care levels, hence, making continuity of care possible.

Aga Khan University invites application for the position of Specialist in the Division of Women and Child Health.


Responsibilities:


You will be responsible to:


  • assist Vice Chair, Clinical Service and other senior faculty members of the department
  • assist the faculty members, assigned from the Section of Genetics and Metabolics, Paediatrics & Child Health.
  • lead all Genetics & Metabolic functions of the section including communication with overseas labs for logistic arrangements and testing
  • communicate with patients for the overseas testing process, and charges and prepare their medical letters in close coordination with the primary physician
  • provide support to the Manager of the Division of Women & Child Health  in the operation matters of the CoE-WCH building
  • liaise with other Departments within the University for administrative activities of the section of Genetics and Metabolics and annual departmental events
  • provide administrative and logistics support in planning, organizing, and executing various events (CME / CPD, Retreats, Seminars Workshops & National and International Symposiums)
  • facilitate annual appraisal and LOE for departmental faculty
  • maintain departmental files updated as per the JCIA requirements at the Department and Division level.

Requirements:


You should have:


  • a minimum of Master’s degree in Business Administration / Health Administration or equivalent from a reputed university
  • at least 6-8 years of relevant experience in health care administration
  • knowledge of resource management including financial management and have good negotiation skills
  • ability to analyse budget variance reports and statistical data
  • certification on handling dangerous goods from IATA that will be considered an added advantage
  • ability to work in harmony with team members, nurture the spirit of collegiality and provide an environment of equal opportunity for all
  • ability to bring in innovative ideas and think out of the box
  • good interpersonal and networking skills.
