Job Role / Responsibilities:
The Office of Strategic Communications has an exciting opportunity available for an individual experienced in using video, photography, audio, graphics/illustrations – all important elements required to tell a story.You will be a part of a team whose mandate it is to demonstrate the value and impact of AKU and, in so doing, build ambassadors and advocate for the organization among internal and external stakeholders.
Specifically you will be responsible for:
- identifying and creating video content (film, edit,publish) to showcase and advance AKU priorities, social impact and digital presence in consultation with the Senior Manager (e.g., website, staff portal, social media, and YouTube channel)
- creating an annual video production plan based on AKU’s priorities
- reviewing trainings and training material that relates to the creation and evaluation of digital content on a regular basis
- working with entity communicators to apply established processes to make the website more user-centric
- mentoring, supporting and training entity communicators to create consistent high quality video content and digital communication assets
- leading on the Digital AssetManagement (DAM), to digitalise and store AKU's current and olderassets, including but not limited tophotography, video and music
- creating and managing processes andtools related to collecting, curating, cataloguing and retrieval of digitalcontent
- receiving and reviewing new asset requests, making recommendations, managing retrieval and delivery, and consulting on alternative solutions
- aligning asset ingestion process, organization and maintenance of internal creative file systems in parallel to AKU's DAM
Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:
You should have:
- a degree in business, communications, social sciences, from a recognized university or post-secondary institution
- at least three to five years of experience in communications, marketing, media relations, public relations or related field
- demonstrated experience with storytelling for digital, and social media platforms, content management, audio production, video production, and experience in brand building
- proficiency in web, video and social media channels, technologies, and trends
- demonstrated knowledge of creative, compelling, and sharp multi-media storytelling
- demonstrated experience with communications best practices
- understanding of stakeholder engagement and meeting stakeholder communication needs to build and maintain strong relationships
- confidence,with a positive attitude, and courage to share ideas
- the ability to take decisions comfortably
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- the ability to take initiative to leverage opportunities and tackle challenges
- the ability to anticipate and discerns issues and use creativity and critical thinking to identify solutions
