Job Role / Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Manager of Clinical Systems, you will be expected to independently plan and manage multiple modules of a large software implementation project through all phases of the system implementation life cycle. Your responsibilities will include collaborating closely with users to define business requirements, understanding the software’s functionality, and generating detailed fit-gap analysis reports to ensure alignment with business needs. You will provide guidance to Programmer Analysts in the enhancement and support of existing and new HIS modules and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the implementation of multiple software modules through all stages of the system implementation life cycle.
- Work closely with users to understand business requirements and software functionality. Generate fit-gap analysis reports with design considerations to meet business needs.
- Provide guidance to a team of Programmer Analysts in the enhancement and support of current and new Health Information Systems (HIS) modules and systems.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost/benefit analysis and provide proposals for system enhancements and implementation plans.
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and support of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Implementation to ensure successful integration across systems.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and assist in leveraging AI knowledge for system improvements where applicable.
Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:
You should have/be:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or a related field.
- At least 5-10 years of relevant experience in software engineering and clinical systems implementation.
- In-depth knowledge of software engineering principles, object-oriented analysis and design, and a high proficiency in programming languages such as VB6, VB.Net, ASP, object-oriented programming, N-tier application development, and web-based applications.
- Proven experience in EHR Implementation and an understanding of AI technologies in clinical settings is a strong plus.
- Strong project management skills to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- The ability to consistently meet established goals and adjust processes based on feedback.
- Experience in working with users to define requirements and develop new applications and procedures.
- Excellent supervisory, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical skills to identify trends, patterns, and implications of data, drawing logical conclusions and providing actionable recommendations.
- Ability to understand client perspectives and adjust services as required.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to facilitate open communication within the team and with clients.
- Comprehensive knowledge of data modeling, requirement management techniques, and software development methodologies.
- Ability to make clear decisions based on available information, assessing risks and consequences.
- Ability to drive change by explaining processes, implications, and rationale to affected stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others to align with business goals and the organizational vision.
Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with EHR and AI technologies as they relate to clinical system enhancements will be considered a significant advantage.
