Job Title: Shift Analyst , Rafhan Maize/ Ingredion Pakistan
LOCATION: Rakh Canal
REPORTS TO:Plant Quality Assurance Manager

The Shift Chemistis responsible for
- Perform laboratory tests in respective shift or day duty to ensure products/supplies according to established standards and guidelines. Handle laboratory equipment and supplies safely and effectively. Document laboratory activities for reference purposes.
- Ensure timely communication of daily/weekly and monthly reports in absence of chemist/ Sr. chemist.
- TRI/LTIR, COPQ, FPC, Complaint Index, Cost Smart, OTIF
Core Responsibilities:
Laboratory Testing and Calibration Activities
- Ensure a safe lab environment
- Prioritize testing based on business needs and departmental goals.
- Prepare and standardize chemical reagents when necessary.
- Ensure necessary laboratory supplies and equipment is available
- Ensure special test analysis needed to support optimization of in process parameters is performed in an appropriate and timely manner
- Work with production to ensure timely in-process analysis.
- To test incoming starch slurry and other raw material.
- To conduct in-process and finished product analysis in each shift.
- Plant monitoring survey
- To inform Shift Engineer/Operator immediately in case of any abnormal results through E-mail/EXP/Write-It/telephone.
- To maintain analytical results, record book/log sheet of in-process as well finished products. Ensure SAP finished product release in timely manner.
- Repeating of analysis in case any variation is observed.
- Ensuring availability of all the required solutions/chemicals.
- Immediate reporting of non-functional instrument to Lead Chemist/ Plant QA Manager and sending e-mail/ notification for its repair without any delay.
Documentation, Data Analysis and Record Activities
- Daily preparation of Lab. Reports and Log Book.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records manual/SAP for compliance with retention and data recording procedures in accordance with IMS and regulations.
- Maintain calibration records in shift and whenever required to meet planned requirements.
- Maintain sufficient stock of chemicals and supplies to perform lab experiments.
- Ensure that materials are labeled properly and used in right quantities.
- Investigate issues, analyze root causes and define resolutions.
- Suggest improvements for test procedures to achieve project objectives.
- Develop standard procedures to improve quality and efficiency.
- Provide assistance to junior chemists when needed.
IMS and Compliance Activities
- Provide assistance to audits for compliance to quality, IMS systems as per customer, quality, and regulatory systems.
- Work with operations providing technical assistance to identify, investigate and resolve process discrepancies.
- Review Out-of-Specification results with Quality Manager and implement required corrective action.
Training and Development Activities
- Support performance management activities and site development efforts to enhance the talent capability and provide ongoing personal development of staff.
- Train junior chemists on test procedures.
- Evaluate new analytical equipment and instrumentation methodology.
- Evaluate test results to improve technicians and instrument performance.
- To acquire training on current GMP’s, GLP’s, ISO, IMS and standard test methods and procedures. Maintain training records.

Education
Experience
- Atleast 2 Years, QA/QC Laboratory
- Food, Pharma, Chemical, Quality Control/Quality Assurance
Desirable Requirements
- Key Skills (Analytical, Instrument calibration, physical assessments & monitoring)
- Computer and Project Skills with foundational level applying level (i.e SAP, Office, Six Sigma)
- Good mathematical skills and familiarity with analytical quantitative calculations.
- Solid communication skills both written and oral.
- Have a strong interest to learn and master a variety of analytical technologies.
- Like to offer new ideas and think out-of- the-box.
