Job Description

Introduction


The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

Responsibilities


The position entails supervise project activities, implementing study protocol, from field to data management to ensure quality control and maintain good working relationship with staff, collaborators and stake holders. In addition, the incumbent will also be responsible for logging, collection, processing, shipment and storage of Research samples collected in the study. Specific responsibilities include to:


  • coordinate with administrative and fleet management team to arrange the vehicle and resources needed 
  • acts as liaison between PI and Office of Research and Graduate Studies to resolve pressing concerns in time for meeting submission deadlines.
  • petty cash handling, transport management and smooth running of office space
  • monitoring staff charging and shuffling
  • plan & Organize project related events(meetings/conferences/seminars/visits) with assistance of budgeting, logistics’ team
  • look after overall management of the logistical and administrative tasks at assigned field site;
  • visit field sites for monitoring and audit purposes

Requirements: 


  • You should have:
  • Master’s degree or equivalent
  • 2-4 years of work experience in Administrative/business position
  • excellent Communication and Supervisory skills
  • good language skills in Urdu and English (both written and verbal)
  • ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively
  • resilience and ability to cope up with work pressure and stringent deadline
  • willing to travel and work in the communities / rural field sites
  • proficiency in the use of computer applications, particularly MS office
  • ability to manage time and prioritize tasks
