Job Roles/Responsibilities:


The incumbent will be responsible to carry out research work on the Grant Project entitled “Investigating Air Pollution Induced Genome – Wide DNA Methylation Changes and Respiratory Health Effects: A Study in Karachi, Pakistan” which include laboratory bench work, data entry, data analysis, and record-keeping study participants.


You will be responsible to:


  • Assist in the collection, processing, and storage of biological samples (e.g., blood).
  • Perform DNA extraction and ELISA on blood samples.
  • Assist in managing and organizing laboratory supplies and reagents.
  • Accurately enter and manage research data in databases.
  • Perform preliminary data analysis using statistical software.
  • Maintain detailed and organized records of experimental procedures and results.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports, presentations, and research publications.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and ethical guidelines.
  • Assist in coordinating fieldwork activities.
  • Collaborate with other team members and contribute to regular lab meetings.
  • Any other tasks assign by the Mentor and or the Research Supervisor.
  • Final report upon completion of research project

Requirements:


You must have:


  • MSc/ BSc (Honors) in medical or biological sciences from any HEC recognized or foreign University.
  • Previous laboratory experience, particularly in molecular biology techniques, is preferred
  • Working knowledge and skills in laboratory techniques
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • proven ability to work well with certain degree of autonomy and function successfully in a team environment
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to participate and provide intellectual input to the assigned research project
  • Result oriented and ability to meet deadlines
