The Department of Biological and Biomedical Sciences invites applications for Senior Research Assistant position to work on the Seed Grant-ALHSC entitled “Discovery of viral etiology of unknown Febrile illness and sero-surveillance in Pakistan”.

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Senior Research Assistant in the Department of Biological and Biomedical Sciences.

This is a short-term contractual position.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible to:

• provide assistance to the Principal Investigator in planning, managing and conducting research project by determining theoretical aspects of problem and selecting method of approach
• conduct thorough literature search
• assist in conducting experiments, devising instrumentation and techniques to record and collect test results
• data collection, tabulation, analysis and correlation of compiled research data and interpretation of results
• complete bench work and MPhil related thesis write-up and ensure its timely submission
• assist Principal Investigator in preparing write-ups, research manuscripts, presentations, mini-projects and grant proposals.

Requirements:

You should have:

• MSc/ BSc (Honors) in medical or biological sciences from any HEC recognized or foreign University.
• Working knowledge and skills in laboratory techniques
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to participate and provide intellectual input to the assigned research project
• result oriented and ability to meet deadlines
