We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Project Manager , HR Transformation


Location: Bangalore, Hyderabad or Gurgaon


Context:


The Senior Project Manager will typically lead a single complex project, sit across multiple projects / workstreams or manage a programme management office within a flagship programme.Through 2025 - 26 , they will be responsible for managing the delivery of one of the key outcomes of a flagship HR programme through driving interlock across other workstreams such as Solution Delivery, Change & Enablement and Target Operating Model, as well as the broader Talent Acquisition Function.


Role Purpose 


  • Tracking status of programme deliverables and milestones
  • Workstream level governance and reporting aligned to programme – i.e. plan, RAID, budget, benefits management
  • Supporting the adoption of the initiative lifecycle and methodologies
  • Monitoring the status of projects transitioning into BAU
  • Ensuring compliance of initiatives with HSBCs Change Framework and the HR Change Governance Process
  • Responsibility of the regular programme level reporting cycles
  • Post completion and lessons learned reviews
  • Programme level workshops and knowledge sharing on best practice across the HR Function
  • Additional responsibilities include assisting the PM/ PMO Team with defining and updating processes, standards and governance and contributing to quality reviews.

Role Dimensions


  • The role holder will manage the effective delivery of the sub-workstream, focused on mitigating interdependencies,  applying best practices to ensure tasks and milestones are achieved as per time, cost and risk parameters
  • The role holder will ensure that relevant TOM governance is followed in relation to GCC
  • The role holder will be responsible for accurate reporting of the sub-workstream status across planning, RAID, budget and benefits
  • The role holder will work with the TOM Delivery Leads within the Quarterly Business Reviews and Increment Planning Event to agree the Programme work items, backlog and objectives each quarter
  • The role holder will drive the interlock across wider TAO Transformation workstreams
  • The role holder will have responsibility for ongoing financial and resource management and deliverables feeding into workstream/ programme governance

Principal responsibilities


Project & Programme Management role lead change initiation, design and delivery and are accountable for successful delivery of both Technology and Business Change Programmes and ensuring benefits realisation. They operate at an executive level and engage and influence a wide spectrum of stakeholders and partners across HSBC. The remit area may be market-based, regional or global, and may cross multiple GB/GFs.


Project & Programme Management roles will hold most or all these responsibilities:


  • Drive / support programme delivery proactively, balancing scope, schedule, interdependencies, budget and risks
  • Assisting business stakeholders with the decomposition of complex business requirements into Epics and User Stories that can be delivered by Technology teams via respective backlogs with minimum cross product co-ordination
  • Managing / supporting relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Drive / support the use of Agile methodologies within Technology teams (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Lean) in line with corresponding transformation frameworks at the bank
  • Supporting of senior Project / Programme mangers across all stages of the initiative lifecycle to deliver larger / more complex / high priority Programmes & Projects
  • Lead / support definition of staffing / resourcing, responsibilities and schedules
  • Lead / support the establishment of effective programme controls and procedures
  • Drive  / support the adoption of HSBC standards and work in alignment with Change framework at all times.
  • Manage / support the development and promotion of the technology portfolio and project management practices 

Additional responsibilities of GCB 4 Project & Programme Managers could include:


  • Set high expectations concerning quality and put in place / work within quality assurance processes
  • Lead the team to meet programme objectives
  • Accountable for all elements of programme financial management, including headcount and software delivery capitalisation
  • Manage negotiation with, relationships with and service agreement monitoring of external suppliers, including technology suppliers
  • Report progress, issues, dependencies and risks to steering committees / initiative leadership and make recommendations to influence decision making in order to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realisation
