Job Description


Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for the design of overall Temperature Controls (TC) product line, ensuring flawless execution of all NPD and Sustenance Projects (Obsolescence, Quality).
  • Lead the Design Center of Excellence for TC products, leading all aspects of Technical governance, including Design signoff and change control.
  • Work as the Office of Chief Engineer (OCE) to review and approve any design change requests.
  • Interact with customers to finalize product requirements and work closely with the design team to successfully qualify products.
  • Launch New Product Development Programs on time, maintaining standards of performance, quality, and reliability.
  • Develop and implement an ambitious growth strategy for the TC Portfolio.
  • Drive innovation and sustainability initiatives for TC products.
  • Effectively manage global Business Unit engagement.
  • Manage team budgets and assist the Business Unit in planning for CAPEX/OPEX investments.
  • Monitor and track metrics, ensuring spend within allotted budgets.
  • Foster continuous process improvement by adopting Thermo Fisher’s PPI tools and standard methodologies.
  • Build and lead a high-performance team of engaged and motivated professionals to support ongoing business growth.
Candidate Requirements:

Education:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Master’s in Thermal Engineering/Refrigeration Engineering or equivalent experience preferred.

Experience:


  • 15+ years of overall experience, with a minimum of 10+ years in full life cycle product design and development.
  • Strong background in refrigeration systems design, particularly VCRS systems, with familiarity in other refrigeration technologies such as Thermoelectric, Absorption systems, Stirling engines, TEC, Stirling, Thermosyphons, and heat pipes.
  • Proven experience in designing and developing heat exchangers and chillers.
  • Awareness of global regulatory requirements, certifications, and engineering standards.
  • Expertise in mechanical and thermal engineering systems, including electro-mechanical systems.
  • Develop and maintain the highest levels of development practices, including technical design, solution development, systems configuration, test documentation and execution, issue identification and resolution, quality assurance, and predictability.
  • Lead technical teams with a focus on delivery management, talent development, and people management.
  • Develop and manage project budgets and resource plans to meet business unit objectives.
  • Prioritize and deliver project goals and objectives within a matrix reporting structure.
  • Develop, maintain, and present regular project status reports, issues, and solutions to leadership and Business team.
  • Experience in developing and implementing business strategies.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and influence across functional teams and engage with internal and external customers.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical abilities.
  • Executive presence with strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
