Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Job Brief:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Machine Learning Engineer with a strong focus on Large Language Models (LLMs) and a solid foundation in classical machine learning techniques. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying innovative AI solutions, leveraging both LLMs and traditional machine learning algorithms to tackle complex business challenges. You will be a key contributor in shaping our LLM strategy and driving the adoption of these technologies across various products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

• LLM Development and Deployment:
• Design, develop, and fine-tune LLMs for various applications such as natural language understanding, text generation, question answering, and dialogue systems.
• Implement and optimize LLM pipelines for inference, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and low latency.
• Explore and experiment with both open-source and closed-source LLMs (e.g., GPT, BERT, LaMDA) to identify the best fit for different use cases.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in LLM research and apply them to improve existing models and develop new ones.
• Classical Machine Learning:
• Apply classical machine learning algorithms (e.g., regression, classification, clustering) to solve problems where LLMs might not be the most suitable approach.
• Develop and implement feature engineering techniques to improve the performance of both classical and LLM-based models.
• Evaluate and compare the performance of different machine learning models, including LLMs and classical algorithms, to choose the best solution for a given task.
• Collaboration and Mentorship:
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, software engineers, and data scientists, to integrate AI solutions into various products and services.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior machine learning engineers.
• Contribute to the development of best practices and standards for AI development and deployment.

Qualifications and Experience:
Education: 

• Master's or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in machine learning engineering, with experience in both NLP and classical machine learning. Proven track record of developing and deploying machine learning solutions in production environments.
• Hands-on experience with popular deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and LLM libraries (e.g., Hugging Face Transformers).
• Experience with classical machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn) and algorithms.
• Skills:
• Deep understanding of LLM architectures, training techniques, and evaluation metrics.
• Strong understanding of classical machine learning algorithms and their applications.
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with relevant NLP libraries (e.g., spaCy, NLTK).
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and MLOps tools.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Passion for staying at the forefront of AI research and development.

Bonus Points:

• Experience with prompt engineering and techniques for controlling LLM outputs.
• Contributions to open-source LLM or classical machine learning projects.
• Experience with building and deploying AI models on edge devices.
