Software development with impact

To spearhead the ‘Digital Product’ team, we are looking for a senior software developer, with hands-on experience with programming microservices. Your preferred microservice framework is Java - Spring Boot / Cloud.

On a typical workday, you would be:

• Implementing best-of-class microservices, in the context of
  • A monolith-to-microservices conversion project
  • New products that deliver business value
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to co-build.
• Providing technical guidance on doing-microservices: practices, patterns, ….
• Wearing different developer hats (architectural analysis to code implementation), if this is something you like to do.

A software developer background is required to be successful in this role. We envision someone, who:

• Is a pragmatic doer with a mindset and drive that fits our digitalisation initiative.
• Enjoys coding and has strong programming proficiency with Spring Boot (3) - Java 17, Java 21.
• Has a proven track record of developing high-quality, secure microservice-based products.
• Might even have worked on a monolith-to-microservices conversion of a high-load, critical system (this is a plus).
• Has expertise with, or affinity for quickly adopting, related tools and technologies:
  • Cloud (Azure)
  • Maven, GIT, CI/CD (e.g., Azure DevOps)
  • REST API, (Open)API, Async API, Postman
  • Docker and Kubernetes
  • Database design and modelling: SQL, MongoDB, Postgres, Flyway
  • Event architecture and (Confluent) Kafka, incl. Kafka Connect, Kafka Streams
  • Test-Driven Development (TDD) with e.g., Junit, Mockito, Wiremock, JMeter
  • …
• Has a good grasp of algorithms and data structures.
• Understands design patterns and anti-patterns in microservice landscape: Saga, CQRS, Hexagonal, backend for front end, …
