Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff/Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Staff/Senior Data Engineer at StarzPlay, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining our data infrastructure. You will leverage your expertise in data warehousing, SQL, data modeling, ETL tools, and exceptional communication skills to drive the success of our data engineering initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines and architectures.

Implement and optimize data models for efficient storage and retrieval of structured and unstructured data.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.

Utilize your expertise in data warehousing concepts and practices to enhance data quality, reliability, and performance.

Develop and maintain ETL processes using industry-standard ETL tools for data ingestion, transformation, and loading.

Optimize SQL queries and procedures for performance improvement and efficient data retrieval.

Communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders and contribute to a culture of data-driven decision-making.

Requirements:

Bachelors or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Proven experience (5-7+ years) in data engineering, with a strong emphasis on data warehousing, SQL, and ETL tools.

Solid understanding of data modeling principles and methodologies.

Expertise in designing and optimizing data warehouses and data architectures.

Proficiency in SQL and experience with various databases and query optimization techniques.

Hands-on experience with industry-standard ETL tools (e.g. Talend, Informatica).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with AWS Redshift, S3, Amazon Data Services.

Familiarity with big data technologies and distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
