Introduction:


The Aga Khan University was founded in 1983 as Pakistan’s first private university, Aga Khan University is a not-for-profit institution and an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network. Starting in 2000, the University expanded to Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, United Kingdom and Afghanistan. AKU began life as a health-sciences university.


Early Childhood Development is one of the most crucial phases of human life span development. ECD PREP at the Department of ObGyn works on multifaceted projects to scale ECD i.e. clinical services, workforce development, research and advocacy. This project is focused on working closely under the supervision of the lead ECD PREP on conducting various early years learning research and desk review. This role will provide you with firsthand experience working under a highly qualified team and exposure to a diverse range of training opportunities offered through the ECD PREP ObGyn Platform.

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Senior Assistant (ECD PREP) in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology.


Job Role / Responsibilities:


You will be responsible for:


  • conducting early years learning research and desk reviews under supervision
  • supporting data collection, analysis, and documentation of ECD-related studies
  • developing reports, presentations, and materials for ECD advocacy and implementation
  • engaging in literature reviews and evidence synthesis on early childhood education and development
  • co-designing play activities for young children and their caregivers
  • contributing to capacity-building activities for educators and caregivers in ECCE settings.

Eligibility Criteria /Requirements:


You should have:


  • a graduate degree (preference given to candidates with a B.Ed or an ECCE/ECD certificate or diploma)
  • experience in early years teaching
  • proficiency in MS Office
  • excellent command over English.
