Job Description

Job Purpose


The Selling Excellence Manager at GSK will be responsible for enabling performance delivery by driving the capability building of our field force. This role is pivotal in enhancing the disease and product knowledge, selling skills (including omnichannel) of our representatives. Additionally, the role will work closely with Sales Leadership to enhance coaching and leadership, ensuring they are equipped to lead and inspire their teams effectively.


Education, Experience & Skills


  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree. Specialization in sciences/communication/training will be preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Training and Organizational Development, Sales Force training and other relevant functions. Prior Pharma Training Experience, Professional speaker experience or People Management Experience will be preferred
  • Exceptional communication & presentation with planning & organizational skills
  • Ability to work & manage multiple stakeholders

Key Responsibilities


  • Build comprehensive, ambitious training and organizational development plans that unlock high performance in the sales organization
  • Identify the training and development needs of the field force through gap analysis enabled via data analytics and field insights (observations & feedback)
  • Design, develop and implement innovative training interventions that enhance the field force's knowledge of diseases and products, as well as their selling and omnichannel skills
  • Design, develop and implement coaching programs for first and second line sales leaders, enabling them to effectively manage and inspire their teams
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and initiatives through comprehensive impact assessments. Evaluate effectiveness of disease and product knowledge, selling skills and coaching via in-field evaluation with Sales Reps and Sales Leaders.
  • Establish a streamlined mechanism to report on field observations and insights not limited to selling and coaching, but also competitor practices
  • Coordinate with above country teams to implement regional/global capability building programs
  • Drive Good Sell Outcome & Good Coaching Outcomes
  • Lead the onboarding capability development programs for new hires, new launches and new product introductions
  • Assist in designing and implementing sales force assessment programs
  • Links lead and lag KPIs: Link lead measures to lag measures, Leveraging data-enabled decisions to improve commercial execution.
  • Use appropriate learning technology solutions (including AI etc.) to provide on-demand learning assets that put employees in charge of their learning. Contribute to creating a culture of employee-owned learning
  • Help to align Business Unit marketing materials, ensure campaign materials, call flows and knowledge questions are updated to high standard
  • Evaluates impact: Define, measure and interpret Selling Excellence activities impact in relation to the organization’s performance objectives using a range of quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
  • Work collaboratively with Business Units, Marketing and Sales to drive seamless and continuous capability building of the sales organization
