We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Consultant Specialist.
In this role, you will:
- Operations Management
- Oversee IBM i (AS/400) and IBM Z (Mainframe) system operations.
- Ensure high availability and performance of critical business applications.
- Monitor alert consoles, review and improve IPL, Role Swaps, system recycles, and subsystem handling.
- Incident & Problem Management
- Lead incident resolution, analyze recurring issues, implement permanent fixes, and drive proactive problem management.
- Enforce ITIL best practices for incident, problem, and change management
- Ensure continuous alert optimization and MTTR reduction
- Automation & Optimization
- Identify and implement automation solutions to reduce manual interventions.
- Work with engineering teams to integrate alert management and self-healing automation.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Lead a team of IBM i and IBM Z administrators/operators across multiple shifts.
- Conduct weekly/monthly performance reviews, track team productivity, and provide coaching. Mentor junior team members and build succession plans.
- Develop cross-training programs to ensure team members can handle both IBM i and IBM Z operations.
- Security & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory guidelines (e.g., SOX, GDPR).
- Implement access control measures to prevent unauthorized system changes.
- Work with audit teams to address compliance gaps.
- Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Liaise with business teams, IT infrastructure, application teams, and third-party vendors.
- Participate in technical discussions with senior IT leadership.
