Introduction:
The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. Responsibilities:
The position entails providing quality patient care at one of the peri-urban primary healthcare centers of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health. Enroll patients for ongoing research studies, organize data gathered, and maintain records for different research projects. Specific responsibilities include to:
- ensure proper identification and registration of patients as per study protocol
- supervise and monitor timely visits of participants for follow-ups
- monitor and report protocol deviations
- develop SoPs and manual of operation for study activities
- provide training to the study staff as per the protocols and guidelines of the study
- ensure the completeness, proper filings, and archiving of the data
- develop and implement QA QC plan with documentation and reporting
- preparation and compilation of study progress report
- in collaboration with the Data Manager, prepare monthly project reports
- present the study results as per the requirement
- develop high-quality research proposals for funding agencies; conduct research and actively contribute to publications.
You should have:
- MBBS/ BDS or MSc. In Epidemiology and Statistics / MPH / MSPH/ Master’s in HPM or equivalent qualifications; preferably with additional
- certification and knowledge of Good Clinical Practices
- at least 3-4 years of experience in managing research studies, supervising data collection, analysis, and drafting manuscripts
- expertise in training teams according to study protocol
- willingness for frequent travel to different locations to oversee quality assurance of departmental research projects and training of local staff
- highly organized and self-motivated•excellent interpersonal communication skills
- ability to work independently and in team
- integrity and strong research ethics
- excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- strong computer skills; Microsoft Word, Excel etc
- excellent academic writing skills
- good analysis skills in SPSS, STAT, R etc.
