Aga Khan University invites application for the position of Research Specialist in the Department for Educational Development.


Job Role / Responsibilities:


Reporting to the Manager, youare expectedto perform all the administrative work related to standardized patients Bank, support projects aimed at improving medical education and healthcare quality through the use of standardized patients in training and assessment settings. Additionally, you will be responsible to:


  • coordinate with DED faculty and HR in recruitment and registration of SPs as per institutional needs
  • ensure the maintenance of attendance sheet of all the respective department
  • ensure that active list of Standardized Patients and attendance record is shared with Finance for processing payments
  • responsible to prepare Release of Payments (ROPs) for the release of SPs payments
  • assist in the recruitment and training of standardized patients for various studies
  • coordinate all logistics, including scheduling meetings and retreats related to the course
  • responsible for design announcement flyers to promote the CHPE program and circulate them through appropriate channels
  • manage participant registration and enrolment processes, ensuring accurate records are maintained
  • collaborate with course facilitators to design, organize and distribute course materials, assignments and assessments
  • manage the VLE platform which includes, designing and creating user-friendly content
  • assist with troubleshooting technical issues and providing guidance on navigating the VLE platforms
  • generate course evaluation reports and analyse data related to course management and performance
  • design, create, and organize the DED newsletter
  • maintain and organize archives of past newsletter editions and source files for future reference
  • correct the manuscript’s flow, structure, and format, to improve its overall quality, coherence, and readability
  • coordinate with AV department’s designing team or designated personnel in case of their expertise is needed
  • maintain accurate records of employee attendance, including regular work hours, overtime, and any deviations from the standard schedule
  • develop research protocols surveys and data collection tools
  • assist in recruitment and training of standardized patients for various studies
  • assist manager in monitoring and tracking employee time off requests, including vacation, sick leave, and other types of leave, ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures.

Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:


You should have:


  • a Masters in Public / Business Administration / other relevant qualification
  • at least 4-5 years of relevant experience
  • excellent communication interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • high level of initiative, reliability and maturity in problem solving skills
  • proficient in use of computer packages e.g. MS Office, VLE, One45, Panopto, SPSS and Internet
  • excellent English writing skills including the ability to prepare minutes of meetings
  • ability to meet tight deadlines.
