The Institute for Educational Development was established in 1993, the Aga Khan University Institute for Educational Development, Pakistan (AKU-IED, P), is a highly respected institution recognized for its teaching, research, policy analysis, as well as its work in the field with schools and other educational institutions. The Institute has three Professional Development Centre in Karachi, Gilgit and Chitral. 

This is a grant funded contractual position. 

Responsibilities:You will be responsible to:

• coordinate with relevant stakeholders for fieldwork including seeking permission, entry negotiation, fieldwork plan
• training of fieldwork staff
• manage budget efficiently to complete activities as per the available budget
• recruitment of research staff
• train data management team for data coding, paper marking, data entry, cleaning and qualitative data transcription
• supervise and mentor data management team
• report the progress to Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI)
• lead data analysis by working with PI/Co-PI and statistician
• supervise qualitative data analysis
• prepare results for report writing
• write research report/manuscripts in response to the posed research questions of the project
• leading dissemination activities
• coordinate with finding agency for executing dissemination activities.

Requirements:You should have:

• a master degree in Education from an HEC recognised or foreign university/institution
• at least two years of relevant research experience in Education or Social Sciences research preferably in large-scale assessment
• research report writing skills preferably a track record of publications (e.g., at least one or two publications in HEC recognised journals, preferably international journals
• proficiency in computer usage with command on Microsoft Office, statistical data analysis softwares (e.g., SPSS, STATA), qualitative data analysis softwares (e.g., NVivo) and data visualization tools
• proficiency in English language (both verbal and written)
• abilities to co-ordinate and efficiently communicate with respondents regarding meeting strong organizational skills with ability to handle multiple tasks
• strong interpersonal skills.
