Introduction
The Department of Community Health Sciences (CHS) is the leading unit of its type in Pakistan, recognized regionally and internationally for the relevance, quality and extent of its work in support of public health and the development of primary health care systems. It comprises of five major operational sections: Epidemiology & biostatistics, Health policy & management, Population & reproductive health, Environmental health, and Non-communicable diseases & mental health.
Responsibilities
The Research Specialist position for the Quality of Care Quest (QCQ) Project aim to support the systematic analysis of healthcare complaints to identify quality gaps and service delivery issues in healthcare facilities. This role will contribute to data collection, analysis, and reporting, ensuring evidence-based insights drive policy recommendations and healthcare improvements. The team will work closely with the Principal Investigator and Co-Investigators to execute research activities efficiently and support the project's overall objectives.
The incumbent will be responsible for the following:
- participate in online and in-person, meetings with stakeholders, policy makers, and relevant institutions
- review and extract relevant data from complaint files
- categorize complaints based on predefined criteria
- enter extracted data into the designated system/software
- ensure accuracy and completeness of all entered data
- identify and correct errors, duplicate, or inconsistencies in complaint data
- standardize data formats for uniformity
- prepare individual case summaries based on extracted and cleaned data
- compile periodic reports highlighting trends, issues, and recommendations
Requirements
You should have:
- Master of Sciences, preferably in legal sciences/ regulatory sciences
- minimum 2 years of research experience, preferably in health systems, public health, or service quality evaluation
- proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- ethical and responsible in handling confidential research data
- passionate about improving healthcare quality and patient safety
- strong understanding of health systems, quality of care, and health policy research
- proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methods, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation
