Research Associate, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology is the academic department of the University to support wide range of in-patient and outpatient care services pertinent to general obstetrics and gynaecology inlcuding lactation consultancy, family planning and parenting education. In addition to the core services, department also caters to wide range of specialised services of Maternal Fetal Medicine, Gynaecologic Oncology, Urogynaecology and Pediatrics & Adolescent gynaecology. The department also offers formal post graduate training programs of residency and fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine, Urogynaecology and Gynaecologic Oncology. 


This is a grant-funded contractual position.


Responsibilities:


The position entails to assist Principal Investigator / Research Supervisor to investigate / establish the aims and objectives of the research studies, funding applications, manuscripts writing, coordination with collaborators, implementing study protocols, data management/analysis. 


You will be responsible to:


  • assist supervisor in developing high quality research proposals for funding agencies; conduct research and actively contribute to publications
  • follow and ensure field implementation of research project related SOPs / guidelines as defined in the project’s protocol
  • ensure proper identification and registration of patients as per study protocol
  • supervise and monitor timely visits of participants’ for follow ups, monitor and report protocol deviations 
  • provide training to the study staff as per the protocols and guidelines of study
  • ensure the completeness, proper filings, and archiving of the data; develop and implement QA QC plan with documentation and reporting
  • prepare and compile study progress report in collaboration with the data manager, prepare monthly project reports, present the study results as per the requirement
  • prepare and present weekly project related activity reports and coordinate with collaborators.

Requirements:


You should have:


  • bachelor's or master's degrees in health sciences related field (preferred) 
  • at least two years of academic research related experience 
  • knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices, and methods
  • computer literacy and strong, analytical, and research skills
  • willingness to travel to field sites when required
  • integrity and strong research ethics
  • excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in English.
