Job Description

Introduction


The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

Responsibilities


you will be responsible to:


  • Screening, eligibility confirmation and enrollment of potential participants after the initial complete evaluation of the pregnant woman; in collaboration with obstetrics care physician on duty
  • correctly introduce the study to potential participants, administer the consent form and correctly complete all CRFs to maintain all study related data
  • perform obstetric ultrasound for pregnant females in their third trimester to assess viability. Have working knowledge of ultrasound-based composite
  • measurement of gestational age using hadlock's algorithm
  • complete assessment and re-assessment of study participants to identify their care needs and resolve their day to day health related issues
  • maintain a daily log sheet and share with the assigned team leader. Report to day to day issues to study supervisor
  • Notification of any adverse events to the site supervisor and Project Manager
  • provide consultation (in-person/telephonic) to enrolled participants for study related concerns.
  • liaison with other hospital staff and administration and foloow hospital rules and regulation. Provide support in clinical care of the patients
  • do shift duties (morning, evening and nights) and remain flexible in working at all AKU secondary hospitals i.e. Garden, Kharadar, Hyderabad and Karimabad.
  • willing to accept any required additional responsibilities when and if required by study team.

Requirement


You should have:


  • Bachelors degree in Medicine (MBBS)
  • 1-2 years of experience in community research
  • ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively
  • excellent team player
  • good communication and interpersonal skills
  • resilience and ability to cope with work pressure
  • willing to work in the communities/field sites
  • good computer and report writing skills.
