Job Description

Introduction


The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

Responsibilities    


You will be responsible for:


  • monitoring the data collection process in the field, evaluating and ensuring the accuracy of the data
  • writing a weekly report
  • coordinating with the project supervisors to discuss field related activities
  • provide training to the staff as per the protocols and guidelines of study
  • overseeing the project, simultaneously, ensuring smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of research related activities
  • ensuring all research related auditable materials are always up to date
  • conducting In depth interviews and FGDs
  • monitoring all components of the project in the field, evaluating, and ensuring the accuracy of the data.
  • translation and transcription of data from Urdu to English.

Requirement


You should have:


  • at least Bachelor’ s degree or master’s in social science or equivalent or Nursing with Midwiferybackground will be preferred.
  • one – Two years of relevant work experience
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work in team setting
  • good writing skills
  • basic knowledge of survey and other research designs
  • data collection, analysis and interpretation knowledge in terms of report writing and biostatics
  • strong interpersonal skills and communication
  • integrity and strong research ethics
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • comfort with working in challenging field-based settings
  • proven mixed methods research skills
  • strong people management skills, particularly in challenging field environments.
