The Department for Educational Development (DED) is a resource for the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) responsible for developing educational philosophy at FHS, for faculty development and capacity building; for supporting curricular review, revision, and programme evaluation and ensuring quality of examinations.

Aga Khan University invites application for the position of Research Associate in the Department for Educational Development.

Job Role / Responsibilities:

You will be responsible to: •    review the literature related to assigned topic•    assist in proposal development and manuscript writing•    conduct assigned qualitative and quantitative analysis•    he/she will assist in selection of relevant high impact journals•    review/edit/write the different components of a scientific publication•    edit language and proofread the manuscript•    correct the manuscript’s flow, structure, and format, to improve its overall quality, coherence, and readability•    format the manuscript according to journal requirements•    prepare weekly and monthly progress report•    ensure compliance with AKU research requirements and facilitate research audits•    any other tasks as assigned by the supervisors.

Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:

You should have:

•    a Masters in Statistics / Research / other relevant qualification•    at least 1-2 years of relevant experience•    knowledge and experience of literature review, research proposal and manuscript writing•    knowledge and experience of using MS Office, SPSS, Stata and other statistical software•    strong academic and scientific writing skills•    prepare datasets for the analysis using statistical packages like SPSS•    carry out data analysis and prepare statistical reports with interpretation for manuscript publications•    coordinate with the project teams and independently manage all complex statistical aspects of research projects•    excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills•    excellent initiative, reliability and maturity in problem-solving•    proficient in the use of computer packages (MS Office, SPSS and Internet)•    ability to meet short deadlines and maintain confidentiality•    interest in pursuing a career in research/ HPE.
