Introduction


Chartered in 1983, Aga Khan University (AKU) is a private, autonomous, and self-governing international university with 13 teaching sites in 6 countries distributed across three continents. The Centre of Excellence in Women and Child Health aims to support the introduction, scale-up and further piloting of high quality and high impact interventions to improve Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (MNCAH) in Pakistan by harnessing the potential of both public and private sectors, coupled with introduction of women and girls empowerment intervention.

Responsibilities


Your will be responsible be responsible for the supervision of overall quality control and assurance of data for all field sites and will be the contact person for all the data related queries. Specific responsibilities include:


  • recommend modifications and reconfigure databases to ensure the optimal storage of data and minimize data entry complexities
  • prepare presentations and conduct training sessions for data entry and data capturing 
  • write queries and codes using Visual FoxPro, VB.net, SPSS, SQL, Excel, or other similar programs, to generate quality control checks 
  • conduct site visits to assess the adherence to data management standards and quality assurance of data
  • conduct data audits, compile results, analyze and summarize audit findings
  • participate in project meetings and propose recommendations for procedure modifications and development related to data management
  • prepare and disseminate periodical reports for progress of assigned projects and identify & remove bottlenecks to ensure smooth data entry
  • respond to data related inquiries received from project personnel regarding relevant project issues and procedures 
  • propose recommendations for procedure modifications and development in the area of data management, quality control, and assurance 
  • supervise Data entry of collected forms from various sources such as paper documents, electronic entry systems, and hand held devices
  • organize discussions and meetings with project implementation and field staff for any clarifications/queries
  • perform all other duties assigned by the Supervisor

Requirements


You should have:


  • a Bachelors degree (preferably Masters) in Statistics / Computer Science / MIS
  • additional Certifications in Database management is preferred
  • Sound knowledge of REDCap / ODK / CSPro will be an added advantage
  • at least 2 to 3 years of related work experience preferably with a Research institute / Data Management Organization
  • good interpersonal and communication skills
  • excellent Computers and Time Management skills
  • strong Analytical, Qualitative and written skills
  • the ability to use statistical software like STATA/SPSS/R
  • willingness to travel to field sites outside Karachi
  • excellent Team Player
