Research Associate, Centre of Oncological Research in Surgery (COORS)

Location: Karachi, Pakistan


Introduction:

Centre of Oncological Research in Surgery (COORS) intends to build a culture of innovation and collaboration that will drive research breakthroughs and be capable of changing approaches to cancer prevention, screening and treatment; in the process, it will improve the lives of cancer survivors. The main core focus areas of COORS are: advancing basic science research in cancer; organising and conducting epidemiological and population-based research and initiating clinical trials in surgical oncology and related area.

CRM is inviting applications for the position of Research Associate from outstanding and ambitious candidates.


Responsibilities:


The Research Associate will be responsible for supporting all kinds of basic science research done under the umbrella of COORS and ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of research and field-related activities. Also, will be responsible for coordinating with the team to discuss field-related activities to:


  • support all kinds of basic science research done under the umbrella of COORS
  • ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of research and field-related activities
  • learn and implement protocols
  • assist in epidemiology or clinical trials research
  • coordinate with the team to discuss field-related activities
  • perform any other assignment as directed by the supervisor.

Requirements:


Candidates must have:


  • a Bachelor (Hons.) from an HEC-recognized or reputable foreign university
  • one year of work experience. Candidates with research-related experience are preferred
  • working knowledge of molecular biology and histology techniques
  • proven ability to work well with a certain degree of autonomy
  • excellent record keeping
  • proficiency in MS Word and Excel
  • ability to quickly learn and take on new techniques
  • meticulous with excellent wet-bench etiquette.
