Job Description

Introduction


The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for the betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that caters to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

Responsibilities


You will be responsible to supervise and monitor the research activities including data collection as well as maintain necessary records, create and sustain liaison with the relevant stakeholders for the smooth implementation of all necessary activities of the project. Specific responsibilities include to:


• developing training material and conducting regular training of staff on research/interviewing skills and data collection processes• effectively manage fieldwork processes to ensure efficiency• conducting interviews independently and taking thorough notes during observational visits and interviews• liaising with admin regarding logistics for fieldwork• visiting field sites for monitoring and auditing purpose to ensure proper field operations as per the guidelines and SOPs provided• will do home visits and teach the research participant to prepare the Nutritional milk supplementation • facilitate meetings among the research team and junior research staff• ensuring field implementation of project-related SOPs and deadlines as defined in the research project• perform all other duties assigned from time to time by the Manager/research specialist in connection with the research projects.• check the dashboard of the study regularly to ensure the due visits• check the data completion and quality. 


Requirements


You should have:


• a Graduation degree/ Master's degree preferred• two to three years of relevant work experience in managing community-based projects• team management experience required• work on Maternal and child health, particularly dealing with breastfeeding is desirable • strong communication and interpersonal skills• team player• good writing skills• basic knowledge of surveys and other research designs• strong interpersonal skills and communication• willingness to work on field sites.
