As a Reference Data Analyst within the Asset & Wealth Management team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring high-quality data availability across our operations. You will become a subject matter expert on all aspects of the index and benchmark process, work closely with various teams to resolve data issues, and continuously aim for cost saving by reviewing license usage. This role provides an excellent opportunity to apply your industry knowledge and functional skills in a globally recognized investment and wealth management firm.


Job responsibilities:


  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME), on all aspects of the index and benchmark process.
  • Work with Business groups and support functions to action and co-ordinate any new index requirements, Validating exact data requirements, liaising with Vendors, licensing and sourcing to confirm licensing status and get approval for any potential on boarding costs. Work with our aggregator Rimes to have index added to our standard index feeds.
  • Onboard of new indices requires new license agreements. Validate licensing requirement and work with the vendor licensing team to define licenses. Check for license renewal and cancellations. All new benchmark onboarding or change should be validated to ensure it is as per the license agreements 
  • nvestigate and respond to queries raised by users across AM and WM related to index and benchmark data. Root cause analysis on benchmark issues through to resolution, including the implementation of controls where necessary. Work closely with relevant teams to get resolution for any index data issues.Liaise with Index Producers to validate or query data issues.
  • Aim for cost saving by ensuring indices by reviewing the license usage. Adherence to benchmark regulations and policies and make relevant changes to procedures where required. 

Required qualification, skills and capabilities:


  • Demonstrate a level of understanding of market reference data, and preferably a background within index processing
  • Knowledge and practical understanding of Financial Services Industry businesses (i.e., wealth management, retail, wholesale well as operations and technology functions)
  • Experience at using various market vendor terminals such as Bloomberg, FactSet, Reuters, etc.
  • Ideal candidate is likely to have previous experience either from Asset Management, Fund accounting, Hedge Funds or market data vendors.
  • Good technical ability with core Microsoft products.
  • Strong communications skills both written and verbal
  • Experience in liaising pro-actively with Portfolio Managers, Traders, Fund Accountants, Index Vendors, and Operational support teams
  • The individual will need to have a proactive approach and take ownership and responsibility for key tasks and issue resolution, with the ability to learn new processes quickly and execute them accurately. They will demonstrate excellent communication skills both verbal and written, and have confidence in interacting with senior management and business partners. 
  • Excellent documentation, analytical, and reasoning skills (e.g., adheres to best practices in meeting management, regularly completes tasks and conducts business with no supervision over email, produces review-ready documentation)
  • Awareness of data-related industry regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues
