Abyss Solutions is reinventing industrial asset management both above and underwater for step-change improvements in; asset life, maintenance cost, and reduction of failure risk. Think oil rigs, dam walls, ship hulls, any asset subject to deterioration in water and weather.
We do so utilize extremely sophisticated, unique (and patented) Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning software together with a deep understanding of our customers’ asset integrity needs and processes. Creating a 3D ‘digital twin’ of customer assets. Using drones and Abyss analytics is just the beginning, Abyss comprehensively classifies the ‘state’ of the asset to identify exactly what maintenance is required, providing precise direction. Abyss is driving to fully automate the maintenance process, expanding applications and capabilities into other verticals, even operating in space thanks to the recent Australian government ‘Moon to Mars’ funding.


Position Summary


The Quality and Productivity Analyst, reporting to the Quality and Productivity Lead, will play a vital role in ensuring project deliveries align with quality and productivity goals. With a background in engineering or software, this role involves implementing company policies, optimizing workflows, and overseeing fundamental quality assurance tasks. Collaboration with internal teams globally and maintaining a balance between office and operational support are key aspects. Success in this position requires a management-focused approach, attention to detail, and active participation in fostering a culture of excellence and efficiency.


Key responsibilities


  • Understanding and implementing a Quality Culture across multiple segments of the organization.
  • Effective communication of the risk involved (Financial, Life, and Environment) in compromising on quality within the Oil & Gas Service Industry.
  • Development and Implementation of detailed Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plans to inspect, test and evaluate product deliverables across various stages of the delivery pipeline.
  • Managing spot checks of different project deliverables to ensure compliance with acceptance standards.
  • Ability to pursue and push Collaboration and Teamwork to achieve quality targets in parallel to individual efforts.
  • Develop, Implement and Monitor Quality related KPIs for each stakeholder to ensure responsibility and accountability of all Quality efforts across teams.
  • Training and managing cross-functional teams in QA/QC practices and quality assessment of processes and deliverables.
  • Interfacing with L&D initiatives focusing on quality and productivity using physical and digital mediums
  • Tracking deliverables through the operations pipeline to guarantee that each part of the process is correct
  • Improving the visibility of upper management and providing useful insights about the whole delivery pipeline, product, and operations as a whole.
  • Performing detailed and recorded assessments of final products and deliverables so the products and deliverables are up to industry and company standards.
  • Replacing processes that are not up to standards and finding the reasons for problems - detailed
  • Root Cause Failure Analysis using industry accepted methods (e.g. 5 Whys Method).
  • Maintain and track data on the Q&P Databases
  • Convert RCAs and NCRs into learning opportunities through effective storytelling.
  • Maintaining the sanctity of organizational tools like CTR, Project Closeout Tool, etc., and adopting a continuous improvement approach for these tools.

Person specification


  • Proven track record of leading quality transformation in a tech company
  • Experience in delivering through others
  • Total Quality Management experience
  • High attention to detail
  • Experience in managing teams of 4-5 people on distributed work
  • Proficiency in Database Management and MS Office Skills
  • Experience in managing the preparation of engineering (Audit) reports
  • Familiarity with interpreting P&ID and/or plant process diagrams
  • Experience in the use of CAD models of structures and/or engineering components
  • Strong computer skills (Google workspace, Apps script proficiency, Coding, Excel worksheets) with
  • demonstrated ability to quickly pick up the use of new softwares.
  • Familiarity with the use of Autodesk Navisworks and/or AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with the use of Power BI and similar data analysis tools.
  • Experience in working with or as part of remote teams
  • Can identify with & display Abyss’ Core Values

Qualification


Bachelor's level qualification in engineering or software is required. A Masters level qualification in a relevant field of engineering and/or management is preferred.
