Job Overview:


We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Sales Executive to join our sales team in a fast-paced shipping and logistics environment. You will work closely with the sales and operations teams to identify customer needs, provide tailored solutions, and drive customer satisfaction. Reporting to the Sales Manager, your main goal will be to optimize the loading capacity and available space on board of the vessels of which you are in charge.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Client Acquisition & Relationship Management:
    • Identify and target potential customers in the shipping and logistics sector.
    • Generate leads, build relationships, and close sales with clients in diverse industries.
    • Develop a deep understanding of clients' shipping needs and tailor proposals accordingly.
    • Maintain strong relationships with existing customers to ensure repeat business and customer satisfaction.
    • Plan and conduct commercial visit according to the commercial action plan and produce visit report.
  • Sales Strategy & Execution:
    • Conduct market research to identify opportunities for new business and competitive trends.
    • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve or exceed sales targets and KPIs.
    • Present shipping services and solutions to potential customers through meetings, calls, and presentations.
    • Negotiate and finalize sales contracts and agreements with clients.
  • Sales Reporting & Documentation:
    • Prepare accurate sales reports, forecasts, and updates for management on sales performance.
    • Maintain detailed records of sales activities, customer interactions, and feedback in the respective systems.
  • Collaboration with Internal Teams:
    • Coordinate with the operations and customer service teams to ensure smooth order processing and timely delivery of services.
    • Work with Trade and marketing teams to develop promotional materials and campaigns.
    • Participate in training programs to improve product knowledge and sales techniques.
  • Industry Networking:
    • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to generate leads and maintain industry visibility.
    • Stay updated on market trends, new shipping routes, and competitor offerings.

Skills and Qualifications:


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, or related field (preferred).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales, preferably within the shipping, logistics, or transportation industry.
    • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and building strong customer relationships.
    • Strong knowledge of shipping, logistics, transport services, port/ country regulations, legal and customs regulations and market practice.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
    • Ability to understand customer needs and offer solutions that align with their objectives.
    • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently.
    • Good interpersonal skills, proactive thinking, customer service oriented, sales techniques knowledge, commercial relations, and analytical skills will enable you to succeed in your daily tasks.
    • Fluency in English is a plus.
