Job Description

Job Purpose


As a member of the Operational Engineering team, the role of Maintenance Manager is to ensure the timely maintenance / calibration activities in production areas to ensure uninterrupted supply of product.  To ensure validation activities are conducted timely and to comply with QMS, GMP & EHS standards, execution  of OEE & process improvements projects and to manage site R&M and engineering OPEX cost heads.


Education, Experience & Skills


  • BE/BS (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics)
  • 4 - 5 years managerial experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Acumen (Thinking, Reasoning, Logic)
  • Excellent building relationship ability to establish effective relationships at all levels across the organization
  • Strong teamwork with an ability to interact with people across all functions and levels within the organization

Key Responsibilities


Operational Planning & Executions


  • To organize develop and implement comprehensive preventive maintenance plan in coordination with planning and production departments for the preventive maintenance of all the equipment and machines at departments.
  • Reduce and control over heads in shape of late hours working, high repair and maintenance cost, and controlling number of workers in a job.
  • Ordering of local and imported machine spare parts to ensure timely availability of parts in engineering stores which can be used in case of machine breakdown.
  • Implementation with effective routine/breakdown, predictive and preventive maintenance for departmental machines and equipment, and minimum interruption due to machine / equipment failure.
  • Correspond with procurement and venders for fabrication, upgrading and spare parts purchase.
  • Plan and execute the internal building repair and maintenance. Monitor Engineering related risks assessment procedures as well as self-inspections
  • Plan the replenishment of spare parts in store.
  • Conduct, Develop, manage and review the calibration activities and its adherence to schedule.
  • Manage and Execute Validation activities including CSV (computer system validation) of all equipment and machine at department/block as well as perform validation documentation of all block/ departmental machines and equipment.
  • Lead continuous improvement at site through achieving and sustaining annual OEE target for site. Perform analysis of key losses; Develop and execute action plan for sustained OEE increase in collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Identify and prioritize replacement or upgrade of processes, equipment, and components at Site that can deliver high return on investment through automation by working closely with team lead automation.
  • Ensure safety issues are appropriately addressed and mitigated.
  • Being Technical authority and SME for Machinery Safety, ensure all machines are compliant with machinery safety standard

Strategic Planning


  •  Analyse the production equipment operations and provide a plan for the improvement of process efficiency and robustness.
  • Provide useful inputs in planning the capacity and forecasting the utilization
  • Prepare Engineers and Supervisors for Succession Planning.
  • Plan the induction of new maintenance concepts
  • Apply new technology as a driving force for process simplification, economical and effective payback times.

Compliance and Procedural Implementations


  • Ensure adequate selection, training and development of staff to achieve their maximum potential to meet business objective.
  • User performance development plans effectively for better performance and development of teams
  • Ensure that requirements of Engineering Standards are fulfilled in the concerned area
  • Develop and implement systems, policies, and procedure so that engineering activities are operated safely, support production, and comply with Group and Local regulatory requirements
  • Ensure that all engineering related systems are maintained within their validated Parameters to achieve consistent quality and reliability.
  • Responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and Safety regulations and practices applicable to this position.
  • Providing Engineering support for preparation of Site Quality plans periodically.
  • Manage engineering needs and procurement policies are being met to facilitate the smooth flow of engineering operations.
  • Ensure compliance with Global GSK policies.
  • Take responsibility and accountability for Physical Contamination Cause and Elimination (PCCE) program at site, identifying, managing, and eliminating PCCE risks and deviations to ensure compliance with EHS and quality policies
