Nurse Specialist, Nurse Education Services

Responsibilities:


The staff development Nurse Specialist will collaborate with nursing management and staff across departments to assess, plan, develop, implement, facilitate, evaluate and revise educational programming for all levels of nursing personnel as indicated or requested. The incumbent will act as a key resource in the orientation and continuing education of nursing staff. Educational programs typically include, but are not limited to orientation, certification/recertification courses continuing education and in-services.


As an American Heart Association (AHA) Training Center Coordinator (TCC), incumbent will oversee operations of the AHA training programs offered by NES i.e. program management, administration and quality of all AHA courses including courses offered at approved training site, managing and supervising instructors and training faculty, and serving as the principal resource for information, support, and quality control for all AHA programs and instructors/faculty of the training center and training sites.


You will be responsible to:


  • Develops educational programs to meet broad nursing needs and institutional patient care objectives in partnership with unit-based Clinica Nurse Instructors and Clinical Nurse Specialists.
  • Ensure professional development of on board and novice nursing staff by continuing education programs.
  • Conducts different training programmes as per identified needs to meet credentialing and certification requirements of nursing staff as per institutional policy & requirements.
  • Serves as primary contact with American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Conduct different audits.
  • Coordinates and conducts different American Heart Association courses and prepares reports as per devised format.
  • Facilitate clinical areas in conducting code blue handling mock drills.

Requirements:


You should have:


  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited degree program, preferably MScN
  • Around 3-5 years of nursing experience
  • Create and translate evidence-based practice in classroom/clinical teaching
  • Demonstrate clinical teaching expertise
  • Ability to be self-directed with excellent organizational, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to supervise clinical aspects and evaluate orientees/trainees’ performance
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as per learners’ needs
  • Commitment to learning and continuing education
  • Demonstrates ability to transmit knowledge and skills
  • Demonstrates leadership skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly creative, initiative, flexible and adaptable.Demonstrates empathy with learners
  • Familiar with the concepts of nursing quality assurance and continuous quality improvement nursing
  • Exhibits effective skills in problem solving and crisis management.
