Responsibilities:


The Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) is seeking a Medical Receptionist to support the smooth operations of the Neurophysiology department. This role requires strong communication, organizational, and administrative skills to ensure efficient patient care and seamless workflow.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Greet and register patients, verifying insurance and demographic information.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments for neurodiagnostic procedures.
  • Receive and prioritize transcription assignments, ensuring accurate and timely processing of medical reports.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality while transcribing and dispatching reports within set timelines.
  • Perform procedural billing, manage cash and credit transactions, and ensure proper record-keeping.
  • Maintain organized patient records and collaborate with relevant departments for efficient administrative support.
  • Ensure compliance with AKUH policies and deadlines related to report handling and patient documentation.

Requirements:


You should have:


  • At least 1-2 years of experience as a medical receptionist, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology and neurophysiology procedures (EEG, EMG, etc.).
  • Familiarity with medical scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both English and Urdu.
  • Ability to handle patient queries with professionalism and empathy.
  • Experience with medical billing and cash handling preferred.
  • Willingness to work in shift duties.
