Job Purpose
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive individual to join our team as the Site EHS & EHW Manager, focusing on Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) and Employee Health and Wellbeing (EHW). This role is crucial in ensuring our site operations run smoothly and in full compliance with EHS regulatory standards while promoting employee wellbeing & safety.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Human Resources, or related field.
Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) or Wellness Program Management is preferred.
At least 3 years of experience in health and safety, wellbeing, or a related role in a corporate environment.
Strong knowledge of occupational safety standards and health regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
Proficiency in using health and safety software and reporting tools.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Health & Wellbeing (EHW)
Responsible for ensuring overall compliance and support for the Occupational & Wellbeing program, with an indirect reporting line to the country Occupational Health physician
Provide high-quality Occupational Health services to Karachi Hub employees.
Collaborate with the Country Physician / Regional team to implement health and wellbeing strategies, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
Support employees with work injuries or disabilities, in line with local regulations.
Manage and enhance health and wellbeing programs in partnership with site communications team, Hub leadership, and Health & Wellbeing champions.
Offer expertise in training, advice, and management of employee health challenges.
Drive continuous improvement in occupational health & wellbeing services through data analysis.
Manage Occupational health & wellbeing programs, medical emergency response, and Country Crisis Management Response in line with regulations and policies.
Support employees with disability management and accommodation requests.
Lead and participate in incident investigations related to occupational health.
Conduct gap analyses of health management systems and implement necessary improvements.
Deliver travel health consultations and preventive health services in collaboration with healthcare partners.
Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & wellbeing requirements and privacy regulations.
Create communication materials using digital channels for effective dissemination.
For overall occupational & Wellbeing program compliance & support function Dotted line reporting to country OH physician
Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS)
Implement and monitor compliance with all Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment in accordance to GSK EHS standards internal GSK policies, procedures, alerts and LOC (Karachi Hub) accountability.
Perform, EHS risk assessments & Management Monitoring in Karachi Hub office to identify risks in critical areas in accordance to EHS standards.
Provide expertise on risk mitigation development plan and monitoring progress,
Act as primary contact in Karachi Hub to build strong relationships with the Hub LT, Human Resources and Compliance & any other relevant stakeholders to ensure the internal control framework has been established to mitigate risks,
Collaborate with Worldwide Real Estate and Facilities to ensure a safe infrastructure is in place within office environment,
Develop a professional relationship with key representatives of EHS 3rd party providers ensuring the delivery of a world class end to end EHS function,
Responsible for local delivery of all EHS services within Khi Hub, ensuring cost, quality and compliance targets are achieved by key contract partners,
Develop, enforce, and review safety protocols and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce environmental impacts and promote workplace safety partnering with Facility team (WREF).
Support communication across departments to support EHS objectives and integrate safety measures into daily operations partnering with Hub LT.
Conduct regular safety audits/investigation, prepare reports on incidents and safety measures, and recommend improvements based on findings.
Conduct cadence of EHS Council meeting (either quarterly or monthly basis max).
