Job Description
Introduction
The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

Responsibilities
You will be responsible to:
- ensure that field operations align with project objectives and established protocols
- monitor data collection and field implementation to maintain accuracy and quality
- supervise data entry activities and ensure timely data management
- identify field challenges and provide actionable solutions for efficient performance
- Share progress of the project on a weekly basis supervising data entry activities
- developing SOPs for project and administrative processes and procedures to facilitate standardized practices at all field sites
- train research staff and physicians as per projects requirements
- work closely with administrative staff to ensure discipline, sufficient supplies and optimal staff at the field sites on day to day basis
- recruit, train, and mentor research staff and field physicians as per project requirements
- regularly update and communicate procedural changes to ensure uniform understanding among staff
- observe, troubleshoot and report to higher management with solution for identified problems for efficient performances at field sites
- provide continuous professional development opportunities to enhance staff skills and motivation
- liaison with stakeholders, and project staff of all tiers to ensure smooth running of projects’ activities within the settings
- hospital visits to foster effective communication and coordination with stakeholders, including project staff and external partners
- address conflicts or misunderstandings within the field team promptly and fairly to maintain harmony and productivityfield visits to interact with local stakeholders, including community leaders and healthcare providers, to strengthen collaboration and trustensure alignment between project goals and community needspreparation and compilation of monthly study report.
Requirements
You should have:
- MPH/M.Sc. in health policy and management / Masters in sociology or equivalent
- 05 years’ experience in community-based research projects atleast 02 years’ experience at the management level
- prior sound experience of field coordination and implementation of community research projects in rural settings of Pakistan
- good interpersonal and communication skills.
- ability to plan and monitor the field activities.
- familiarity with government health system
- capability to manage field team, work independently and take initiative
- computer skills: MS Word, Spread sheets
