This position is placed in Telenor Linx (TLX) which is a new global unit within Telenor Group. We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on accounting and finance expert to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial analysis, excellent numerical skills, and a deep understanding of payment systems and operations. The responsibilities will include managing company’s overall financial settlement (payables and receivables), coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and assisting on cash flow forecasting and analysis, and ensuring sufficient control on the liquidity position contributing to company’s financial stability and success.
Goals
- Efficient operations of company’s interconnect partner settlement reducing the financial risk, improving cash flow management, and building trust among stakeholders.
- Managing the company’s working capital and understanding its liquidity position at any given point of time to enable management to make informed decisions.
- Contributing to the overall cash flow management and forecasting, by using the AR/AP knowledge to the best of abilities.
Key responsibilities
- Settlements (payments and collections):
- Timely and accurate processing of payments to interconnect business partners in accordance with established procedures and policies.
- Reconciling and settling all incoming and outgoing payments with high focus on monitoring high-risk partners including old-aged and credit limit breach.
- Regular follow up with partners for settlement of outstanding receivable balances in close coordination with other colleagues in Settlements team.
- Preparing regular reports on payment activities and settlement operations including ageing analysis, bad debt provisioning, and other key activities.
- Performing regular audits to ensure payment integrity and compliance with policies, adhering to all relevant regulations and standards related to payments and settlements.
- Working capital management:
- Understanding of account payables and receivables and how this will impact working capital.
- Evaluating and monitoring the short-term needs of the company and its ability to cover for its short-term debts.
- Devising strategies on ensuring liquidity thus maintaining sufficient balance to meet its short-term obligations and fund its day-to-day operations.
- Improve cash flow by optimizing the timing of cash inflows and outflows. This means ensuring that receivables are collected promptly and payables are managed effectively.
- Financial modeling and cash flow analysis:
- Building detailed excel models related cash flow.
- Understanding the indirect method of building a cash flow.
- Managing cash position across numerous entities/currencies.
- Monitoring actual cash flows vs forecast and writing descriptions explaining variances.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
- Work closely with credit risk function ensuring all credit risk exposure at customers, product and portfolio level remain appropriate and within acceptable parameters.
- Close collaboration with the business teams, and within Finance to ensure smooth and efficient settlement process with high customer focus.
- Providing support in the development and implementation of new and/or improved settlement procedures and processes.
- Providing assistance and support to business partners (incl. BUs) on matters related to settlements, reconciliations and disputes.
Eligibility Criteria
Experience and Qualification:
- Finance qualification (MBA/ACCA/ACMA/CA Intermediate)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in settlements function (accounts payables/receivables)
- Experience in accounting and financial systems (preferably FCC reporting, Dynamics 365)
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
- Strong background in financial analysis with excellent numerical skills
- Deep understanding of financial settlements and exposure of credit risk management
