In the role as Sr User Experience Designer - Interaction design
You will have an opportunity to work independently and collaborate with the larger user experience design team spread across multiple locations. You will be reporting to a UX manager and working closely with interaction designers, visual designers, user researchers, product managers, and product stakeholders.
On a typical day, interaction designers at OpenText would be doing one or more of the following:
Reading and gathering information about the product's feature requirements Discussing design ideas and opportunities for improving the existing design patterns Ideating designs through concept sketches, task flows, user journeys and wireframes Documenting interaction design and accessibility specifications
Creating high fidelity interactive prototypes
Participating in a meeting with product stakeholders, expert reviews, user research or usability testing Drafting content for a product persona, usability test script, design whitepaper or a case study Guiding and mentoring younger talent, reading a book or taking up a course for self development Engaging in a recreational fun activity
Key roles and responsibilities
Represent the user experience design team through all stages of the product development Partner with product manager to create and/or understand the use cases and scenarios Partner with the user researcher, and/or product manager to create user personas
Partner with interaction designers to review your concept sketches, task flows, user journeys, wireframes and prototypes
Partner with visual designer to provide design insights and review the high fidelity mockups
Partner with the product development team to provide design insights and review the product implementation Assist in strategic research by providing insights during expert reviews and heuristic evaluations
Assist in user research by identifying potential tasks and scenarios for usability testing
Draft test scripts, be an observer to gather insights, compile design findings and provide recommendations with senior oversight.
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Design, Human factors, Social sciences and research, or equivalent with relevant experience.
Hands-on, senior practitioner in UX with 8 to 12 years of experience in interaction design Excellent knowledge in documenting interaction design and accessibility specifications is a must. Expertise in design tools - Axure, Figma
Proficiency in communicating the value of user experience and factors that influence user experience design Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Angular and React is a plus.
