Junior Security Operations Analyst

As a Jr. Security Operations Centre Analyst at Deliveroo, you'll have the opportunity to develop your skills within a team dedicated to securing Deliveroo's digital landscape amidst an ever-evolving threat environment, with a strong focus on automation. Your role will involve identifying and responding to security alerts and working closely with the team to improve our security practices as you progress in your position. 

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the overall Security Operations strategy. You'll leverage our existing processes and technology investments to help protect our employees, customers, riders, and restaurants. As Deliveroo continues to grow, your contributions will be an important part of our journey.

What you'll be doing

• Act as the first line of defence in security monitoring by actively tracking and responding to real-time security threats and incidents as part of the Security Operations Center.
• Conduct comprehensive security alert analysis by utilising advanced monitoring tools (SIEM, EDR, SWG) to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate potential security alerts and vulnerabilities.
• Coordinate and collaborate with security teams, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders to ensure comprehensive security coverage and effective incident response.
• Accurately document and report security incident findings to support team investigation and response efforts.
• Partner with security specialists within the team, proactively identifying and escalating complex incidents that require advanced technical expertise or present significant potential business risk beyond initial assessment capabilities.
• Keep up to date with current security trends, advisories, publications and security research across the threat landscape.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related technical discipline 
• A year of hands-on experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment is a huge plus
• Demonstrates a practical understanding of security monitoring and response techniques
• Possesses foundational knowledge in network, endpoint security, and detection tools
• Strong analytical capabilities with exceptional problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams
• Flexible with shift timings supporting UK and India operational hours
• Strong desire to develop a career path within security operations

Preferred

• Programming skills (SQL, Python, PowerShell)
• Knowledge of cloud security fundamentals
• Interest in emerging security technologies
• Active participation in security communities
