Job Purpose
The Junior Manager – FP&A, Inventory & Costing will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Production, Maintenance, R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, and Warehouse. This role is focused on supporting the achievement of key manufacturing KPIs, with a particular emphasis on waste reduction, inventory optimization, and cost analysis to drive financial efficiency and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacturing KPI Monitoring and Analysis
- Track, analyze, and report on key manufacturing KPIs, including waste reduction, BOM optimization, FOH cost, and energy consumption.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to drive improvements in manufacturing processes.
- Bill of Materials (BOM) Optimization
- Collaborate with Production and R&D to ensure accurate BOM costing and usage.
- Identify opportunities for BOM optimization to enhance cost-effectiveness and reduce waste.
- Fixed Overhead (FOH) Cost Management
- Analyze FOH expenses and develop strategies to improve cost-efficiency.
- Work with maintenance and production teams to manage and forecast FOH costs, ensuring alignment with budget.
- Energy Consumption Tracking
- Monitor and analyze energy consumption within manufacturing processes.
- Propose initiatives to reduce energy usage, in collaboration with the maintenance and production teams.
- Cost Absorption and Manpower Analysis
- Ensure efficient cost absorption through accurate cost allocation and analysis.
- Monitor and assess manpower usage to optimize labor costs in line with production needs.
- Raw Materials (RM) and Packaging Materials (PM) Inventory Optimization
- Work closely with Supply Chain and Warehouse teams to optimize RM & PM inventory levels, minimizing excess stock and improving cash flow.
- Conduct regular inventory analysis and implement strategies to ensure inventory accuracy and efficiency.
- Capacity Utilization Tracking
- Monitor capacity utilization and provide insights to optimize resource usage.
- Collaborate with production to align capacity planning with production forecasts and demand.
- CAPEX Business Case Preparation
- Develop and evaluate business cases for CAPEX investments to support production efficiency and growth.
- Work with finance and operational teams to ensure CAPEX projects align with financial objectives and ROI expectations.
- Gross Margin Analysis
- Analyze gross margin performance, identifying key drivers and variances.
- Collaborate with finance and operational teams to develop strategies for margin improvement.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; additional qualifications in Cost Accounting or Manufacturing are advantageous.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, inventory management, or costing in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), advanced Excel skills, and knowledge of costing methodologies.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, effective communication, and the capacity to collaborate cross-functionally.
