Position Related:
We are looking for an experienced accountant with an expert knowledge of Oracle Financial Consolidation and Close (FCC) at administrator level. Who would like to take part in managing the Telenor Group’s application for financial consolidation and reporting running on the Oracle Cloud EPM platform. For us an IT accountant is someone who can blend the skills of IT and accounting, making you crucial in a variety of processes since we rely heavily on technology for our financial operations
Telenor are planning for implementing ESG reporting using EPM, and the IT Accountant will be instrumental in the implementation and operation of this solution.
The IT Accountant will be a member of the Record to Report (R2R) to team in Telenor Shared Services (TSS), which is instrumental in using, managing and developing the Telenor Group’s financial consolidation and reporting applications. TSS has a diverse and highly skilled workforce with employees of many nationalities, serving and collaborating with all the business units in the Telenor Group.
Your typical day at work
Financial Data Monitoring & Reporting:
- Monitor financial data to identify and resolve errors proactively, ensuring accuracy before end users detect them.
- Prepare and maintain a comprehensive quality control checklist.
- Contribute to efficient processes for accurate and timely financial reporting across TSS, BUs, and Group Units.
- Act as a liaison between IT and accounting teams, bridging competencies to enhance value for all stakeholders.
- Participate in FCC discussions and projects with TSS and Group Accounting, driving improvements and addressing challenges in the financial close and consolidation (FCC) process.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for financial close and consolidation processes.
- Operate and manage the Group’s financial consolidation and reporting applications.
- Maintain and support the ESG reporting solution on Oracle EPM Cloud.
- Update and manage master data hierarchies for Group reporting purposes.
- Implement functional changes and ensure data reconciliation between applications and source systems.
- Track and document all system updates provided by vendors.
Process Improvement & Optimization:
- Recommend and implement best practices to optimize workflows and system configurations.
- Ensure application configurations comply with evolving IFRS reporting requirements.
- Align system functionalities with business requirements and finance best practices.
- Stay updated on Oracle EPM Cloud advancements and recommend features or updates to align with business goals.
- Support the implementation of the ESG reporting solution on Oracle EPM Cloud.
User Training & Documentation:
- Develop and maintain user guides, SOPs, and technical documentation.
- Train finance and IT teams to maximize the capabilities of Oracle EPM Cloud applications.
- Ensure proper maintenance and documentation of system configurations, test cases, and development/test environments.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and organizational compliance standards.
- Proactively monitor and mitigate system vulnerabilities to minimize risks.
Eligibility Criteria
Education:
- Must be CA/(CA finalist)ACCA Member/ICMA.
- Strong corporate accounting knowledge (IFRS).
- Oracle certifications in EPM will be preferred.
Work experience:
- In-depth knowledge about legislation and international standards pertaining to corporate accounting and financial consolidation in a listed entity with operations in many countries
- Thorough knowledge of financial reporting processes in a large corporation
- Excellent working knowledge of Oracle Cloud EPM / Financial Consolidation and Close (FCC)
Functional Skills / Knowledge Areas
- Working knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Data Management (EDM).
- Working knowledge of FCC/Task Manager, EPM Automate, and Cloud EPM Data Management.
- Working knowledge of other Cloud EPM application platforms, like Planning and Tax Reporting.
- Willingness to assume both design, development, maintenance, and error handling work.
- Willingness to "go the extra mile" to resolve critical problems.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately to deliver quality work.
- Ability to keep calm and make good decisions under time pressure.
