The Department of Paediatrics and Child Health is committed to providing state-of-the-art clinical services to children. It imparts high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate training and subspecialty training and research opportunities. Besides the outpatient clinics, the inpatient set-up consists of a paediatric ward with two units comprising 84 beds, a state of art Neonatal Intensive care unit with the latest equipment and protocols in place, and a capacity of 24 high acuity beds with one is to one staffing along with 10 bedded level 2 care monitored cots. The Neonatal section offers a 2-year Neonatal fellowship training and is one the oldest and established fellowship programs with 6 fellows. In addition to care for sick babies, the section also provides services along with Pediatric consultants to the Well babies in the post-natal wards.


This is a grant funded contractual position. 


Responsibilities:


You will be responsible to:


  • manage patients in consultation with consultants in Pediatric gastroenterology, other pediatric sub-specialties and surgeons to detect and pre-empt untoward changes in patients’ condition
  • prescribe preoperative and postoperative treatments and procedures in consultation with senior faculty/consultants, such as sedatives, diets, antibiotics, and preparation and treatment of the patient's operative area
  • analyze patient's medical history, medication allergies, physical condition, and examination results to ascertain best possible clinical care
  • involve in on-call service with a full-time faculty and will liaise with them, in matters arising on the call days
  • supervise all Pediatric gastroenterology related clinical activities
  • develop and maintain good professional relationship with nursing staff and faculty/consultant.

Requirements:


You should have:


  • structured post-graduate training in Pediatric Medicine and FCPS II or equivalent from a reputable institution
  • at least one year of relevant experience. However, prior experience in Pediatric Gastroenterology is preferred.
  • valid PMDC license.
